J.J. Redick scored 17 points off the bench on 5-of-11 shooting (including two 3-pointers) with no rebounds and one assist in 28 minutes.
Redick is playing better than Vince Carter right now, and while that's still the case owners may be more inclined to take the risk in using Redick, who doesn't do much besides hit threes.

J.J. Redick had eight points and a career-high seven assists off the bench on Saturday, playing 27 minutes for the struggling Vince Carter.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, "Right now, Redick seems more solid than Carter," who is still dealing with a sprained shoulder. We doubt J.J. will have consistent value while Vince is healthy, but he's definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Vince Carter's struggles continued vs. the Hawks on Saturday -- he had six points on 2-of-7 shooting, with three rebounds and one steal in 22 minutes.
VC hasn't exactly meshed with the Magic, but that's the least of his fantasy owners' concerns right now. His ailing shoulder is clearly still limiting him and he's played less than 30 minutes in six of the past eight games. J.J. Redick benefits whenever Vince struggles -- on Saturday J.J. had eight points and seven assists in 27 minutes off the bench.

Magic SG J.J. Redick, who can become a restricted free agent after the season, has made it clear that he wants to stay in Orlando.
"This is where my home is," said Redick. "I love the team and I love my teammates and the coaching staff." The Magic can match any offer to keep the 25-year-old Redick, who is currently averaging 9.7 points while shooting a team-best 41.4% from 3-point range.

Vince Carter (shoulder) is expected to play against the Blazers Friday night.
Carter, who has missed the last three games, went through shootaround. It's unclear if he'll step right back in as a starter, but his presence will kill the vast majority of J.J. Redick's value.
