 Jordan Farmar-G - Lakers Jan. 19 - 1:16 pm et

Beat writer Kevin Ding says impending free agent Jordan Farmar still has something to prove before the Lakers offer him an extension.
Farmar has been given a little more responsibility lately, as evidenced by him running the show in some fourth quarters. Still, the Lakers don't trust him nearly as much as 11-year veteran Derek Fisher. Fisher, 35, is also a free agent after the season and Farmar would have some real value if he gets a new deal and lands the starting job.

 Derek Fisher-G - Lakers Jan. 14 - 12:14 am et

Derek Fisher had just three points and two assists on Wednesday, shooting 1-of-8 from the field in 24 minutes.
Phil Jackson said recently that Fisher will continue to start because the offense is smoother with him in the game. We're in no position to contradict Phil, but Fisher's averages in January paint a different picture -- 7.4 points on 31% shooting with just 1.4 assists and 1.1 turnovers.
 Derek Fisher-G - Lakers Jan. 9 - 10:57 am et

Derek Fisher has sat out the entire fourth quarter of three close games recently, but he'll continue to start at PG for the Lakers.
Phil Jackson said that Fisher's veteran leadership is vital offensively, even if he isn't the best defensive option at PG. Whether he starts or not, Fisher's fantasy value is minimal.

 Derek Fisher-G - Lakers Jan. 7 - 9:12 pm et

Derek Fisher has only shot better than 50 percent from the field in one of his last nine games, and was benched during the fourth quarter of Wednesday's loss to the Clippers.
While Fisher won't be this bad all year, the only thing keeping him on the court is leadership at this point. Shannon Brown probably leads the race to replace him, followed by Jordan Farmer, but in the end they'll probably all cancel each other out.

 Mo Williams-G - Cavaliers Dec. 25 - 8:18 pm et

Mo Williams scored 28 points to go along with six rebounds, seven assists and three 3-pointers, and LeBron James added 26 points and nine assists as the Cavaliers easily beat the Lakers in L.A. on Christmas Day.
Kobe Bryant paced the Lakers with 35 points and a near triple-double, but needed 32 shots to do so, as the Cavs frustrated L.A. all day and controlled this game from nearly the beginning. Tempers flared on the court, as Lamar Odom was ejected with two technical fouls, while Williams, LeBron, Kobe and Derek Fisher all jawwed with each other, leading to angry fans littering the floor with foam fingers. If this wasn't a rivalry coming in, it is now.
