Chris Douglas-Roberts (knee) is expected to return to the Nets lineup on Friday.
CDR has missed three straight games due to the injury, but has a nice matchup against the Raptors and is worth activating in daily leagues even though he might be a bit rusty. Trenton Hassell is likely to return to the bench.

Trenton Hassell started for injured Chris Douglas-Roberts (knee) on Sunday, scoring 13 points on 6-of-6 shooting with three rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 21 minutes of action.
It's nice that he got the start and made all six of his shots, but it's doubtful he'll be the beneficiary of future absences. A guy like Terrence Williams, who scored 18 points in 26 minutes, is much more likely to be given an opportunity in this lost season for the Nets.

Chris Douglas-Roberts is a surprise scratch for Sunday's game against the Hawks due to a knee injury sustained on Friday, and is on his way to have an MRI taken.
This is a pretty big surprise and hopefully it's nothing serious. If CDR misses any time, Courtney Lee's minutes and role would be cemented into place. The Nets have a choice to start Trenton Hassell or disgruntled Terrence Williams in his place, and neither are particularly appealing plays.

Bobcats beat writer Rick Bonnell, who wrote a piece Thursday in preparation for Friday's Bobcats-Nets game, said that based on new coach Kiki Vandeweghe's first practice that Courtney Lee might replace Trenton Hassell as the starting small forward.
Bonnell usually has a good beat on what is going on with the Bobcats, and in this case he may have the scoop on the Nets' beat writers, as well. If true, this is great news for owners of both Lee and Chris Douglas-Roberts, as there will be more than enough minutes to go around.

Though a full-blown youth movement appears to be impending in New Jersey, Josh Boone and Trenton Hassell are expected to get at least one more start on Wednesday.
"Let Kiki [Vandeweghe] make a change tomorrow if he wants to," said Wednesday's coach, Tom Barrise. "These guys have played hard. They’ve competed. We’re going to stand by them for another night. Lay it out there tonight." It's nice to see the show of loyalty, but neither Boone nor Hassell is worth owning outside of very deep leagues.

Josh Boone had six points, eight rebounds and three blocks, while Trenton Hassell had 13 points, five boards and three assists as the Nets fell to the Sixers to fall to 0-8 on the season.
Boone could be a decent size of boards and blocks while Yi Jianlian is out for several more weeks, but we really don't trust Hassell. Both started for the injury-depleted Nets tonight.
