David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Troy Glaus will earn a base salary around $2 million in his new contract with the Braves, with a chance for additional incentives.
Terms haven't been made official, but the Braves should have at least some breathing room to find a bat for their outfield, as well. The Glaus signing won't be official under after the holidays, as he'll have to undergo a physical. The Braves have done their due diligence leading up to the signing, and Glaus recently received a positive report on his surgically-repaired shoulder from Dr. Lewis Yocum, so the physical should be a mere formality. Glaus is expected to be Atlanta's first baseman in 2010, but has only played six games there during his 12-year career. Source: David O'Brien on Twitter
