 Dan Haren-S- DiamondbacksOct. 1 - 6:25 pm et
Dan Haren surrendered five runs in six innings to lose to the Giants in his final start of the year.
Haren struck out seven and walked one. His K/BB ratio has remained extremely strong throughout, yet he suffered through another disappointing second half anyway. Some of it has to do with the poor defense behind him, which only got worse when Felipe Lopez was traded and Chris Young lost his job. Still, he has only himself to blame for the 15 homers given up in his 15 starts after the break. He ends the year 14-10 with a 3.14 ERA. He'll still finish first in the majors with a 1.00 WHIP.

 Dan Haren-S - Diamondbacks Sep. 20 - 7:07 pm et

Dan Haren was charged with five runs in eight innings in a loss to the Rockies on Sunday.
Haren was cruising with six scoreless innings with a 1-0 lead but then surrendered three runs in the seventh and two in the eighth. He still finished the game at just 103 pitches as he struck out seven while walking two and giving up eight hits. Haren now has a 4.41 ERA since the start of August, making this the third straight disappointing finish to the season for the right-hander. If he could match his productivity for the first four months down the stretch he'd win a Cy Young one of these years.

Dan Haren improved to 14-8 on the year with eight innings of two-run ball in a 4-2 win over the Padres on Tuesday night.
Haren finally finds a little luck. He was about to suffer yet another no-decision, but Mark Reynolds bailed him out with a go-ahead two-run homer in the ninth. Haren was fantastic, limiting the Padres to just five hits while walking one and striking out four. It was his fifth straight quality start, lowering his ERA to 4.08 in the second half. He might not be bucking an annual trend, but he is certainly finishing strong.
 Dan Haren-S - Diamondbacks Sep. 10 - 1:33 am et

Dan Haren allowed three runs over 7 1/3 innings against the Dodgers on Wednesday night, but took a no-decision in an eventual 4-3 win.
He had the lead until giving up back-to-back home runs to Manny Ramirez and James Loney in the fourth inning. Haren scattered seven hits in the no-decision, fanning nine and walking one. Old habits die hard for the Diamondbacks, as Haren has quality starts in each of his last four starts, but has just one win in that time. He'll bring a 2.82 ERA and 0.95 WHIP into a favorable matchup against the Padres next week.
 Dan Haren-S - Diamondbacks Sep. 5 - 1:19 am et

Dan Haren allowed two runs over six innings as part of a no-decision in an eventual 5-4 loss to the Rockies on Friday night.
He actually left the game with the lead but saw his bullpen cough up yet another victory. Haren scattered seven hits -- including a home run by Ian Stewart -- while striking out eight and walking one. With three straight quality starts under his belt, Haren is doing his best to shake the tag of a first-half pitcher, but a 4-3 mark to go along with a 4.30 ERA since the All-Star break in 09' isn't going to cut it.
 Dan Haren-S - Diamondbacks Aug. 30 - 7:07 pm et

Dan Haren limited the Astros to three runs in seven-plus innings to improve to 13-8 on the season.
He struck out seven and walked two. Two of the three runs came in the eighth after Haren allowed back-to-back singles and then watched as reliever Juan Gutierrez allowed both inherited runners to score. Now 27 starts into his season, Haren still has an incredible 0.94 WHIP.
