Chad Cordero (shoulder) is expected to throw batting practice Saturday.
Cordero is making slow, but steady, progress in his rehabilitation from July shoulder surgery. The Mariners are hopeful that he'll be able to help their bullpen sometime in late May. Seems reasonable.

Chad Cordero (shoulder) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Friday, but wasn't exactly pleased with the results.
Cordero isn't throwing at a full range of motion just yet. "It's frustrating because I know I'm able to do it. It's just when I get up on the mound I'm still trying to protect a little bit which I don't really need to do because it's pretty much healed," Cordero said Friday. "Once I get that out of my head, everything will be all right." He will remain at extended spring training once the team breaks camp and might not be ready until mid-May.

Chad Cordero tossed a 35-pitch bullpen session Sunday morning without issue.
It was his first pitching display in a Mariners uniform. "It feels good to have a uniform on for first time in almost a year," he said. "Everything felt really good." Cordero is still recovering from July shoulder surgery. There's no timetable yet for his return to live game action, but the 27-year-old closer said he's aiming for "mid-May."
