According to Jim Street of MLB.com, free agent first baseman Russell Branyan has rejected a one-year offer from the Mariners.
Branyan, who turns 34 this winter, clearly thinks he deserves a multi-year contract. And he may have a point. The first baseman was finally given ample playing time this season and rewarded the Mariners with a batting line of .251/.347/.520, a career-high 31 home runs and 76 RBI. "I don't want another one-and-done [contract]," he told MLB.com. |
