 Adam Everett-SS- TigersNov. 20 - 8:56 am et
According to Lynn Henning of the Detroit News, the Tigers will make an effort to re-sign shortstop Adam Everett this winter.
Everett, 32, hit a lousy .238/.288/.325 in 2009, but the Tigers were greatly impressed with his defense at the shortstop position. The lack of offense, for what it's worth, should leave him in Detroit's price range. The Tigers are struggling financially but can surely afford an inexpensive, defensive-minded shortstop. He's drawn little-to-no public interest thus far.

 John Lackey-S - Angels Nov. 17 - 10:19 pm et

The Washington Nationals are expected to bid for John Lackey, says a source of MLB.com's Bill Ladson.
The Nationals would prefer to focus their available money towards a pitcher (not someone like Adam Everett, who they've been linked to) and are targeting Lackey in a mentorship role while being an ace. It's a nice idea, but we don't see Lackey settling for anything less than a bonafide winner.

 Alex Gonzalez-SS - Red Sox Nov. 12 - 5:47 pm et

FOXSports.com cites major league sources who say that the Nationals are interested in Adam Everett or Alex Gonzalez to play shortstop.
So much for Ian Desmond. According to the report, the Nationals plan to move Cristian Guzman to second base while giving Desmond more time at Triple-A. Everett and Gonzalez can certainly pick it at short, so they'd be a considerable improvement over Guzman. The Red Sox wisely declined Gonzalez's $6 million option for 2010, but haven't ruled out bringing him back.

 Fernando Rodney-R - Tigers Oct. 14 - 9:05 am et

Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski said Tuesday that payroll limitations will prevent the club from retaining some of their free agents this winter.
Detroit closer Fernando Rodney, second baseman Placido Polanco, reliever Brandon Lyon and shortstop Adam Everett have the right to move on this winter and all of of them might do so. The Tigers had a $120 million payroll this season and suffered a "noticeable dip" in attendance, according to Dombrowski. Rodney, specifically, is coming off a career-high 37 saves and is likely to command a multi-year deal worth over $10 million a season.

 Magglio Ordonez-OF - Tigers Sep. 29 - 5:33 pm et

Magglio Ordonez is in the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Twins.
Ordonez sat out the first game. In addition to Ordonez, Adam Everett will play shortstop with Ryan Raburn in left field and Marcus Thames as designated hitter against the southpaw Brian Duensing.

 Adam Everett-SS - Tigers Jun. 10 - 11:42 pm et

Adam Everett hit his second homer Wednesday off John Danks, giving him five hits and six RBI in his last four games.
The Tigers have managed to get pretty solid production out of their shortstop combination of Everett and Ramon Santiago. Everett's .269/.313/.373 line doesn't seem like much, but it's good for him and he's somehow managed to pick up 24 RBI in 135 at-bats.
