According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Bill Bray is likely to begin the season at Triple-A.
Bray was one of the Reds' best relievers last season, posting a 2.87 ERA and 54/24 K/BB ratio in 47 innings, but his velocity has been down significantly since being sidelined earlier in camp with shoulder problems. "That's the question right now," manager Dusty Baker said. "He did a good job for us last year. He has outstanding stuff. His velocity was down a little bit. You don't know if that's from overthrowing. He's been checked, and they can't find anything." If Bray is indeed sent down, Daniel Herrera would likely replace him in the pen.
