Johnston was originally drafted by the Chiefs as a 4-3 end, but he was cut by GM Scott Pioli when the team switched to a 3-4 system. The Dolphins, who also play the 3-4, will try him at outside linebacker.

Brian Johnston failed his physical after the Lions claimed him on waivers.
He's available once again, but he'll have to get healthy to draw serious interest. Johnston dealt with a lingering calf injury throughout last season.

Lions claimed DE/OLB Brian Johnston off waivers from the Chiefs.
The Lions love having the first waiver wire pick. Johnston, a seventh-round pick in 2008, played under Lions defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham with the Chiefs last season. He's the sixth player the Lions have claimed off waivers this offseason.

Chiefs waived DE/OLB Brian Johnston.
