Steve Marino posted a final round of 2-under-par 68 and finished tied for second place after the second hole of a playoff at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.
Marino carded his third birdie of the day at the 6th hole to gain a share of the lead, but then he proceeded to par the remaining 12 holes. Luckily, he found himself in a playoff after his playing partner, Tim Clark, bogeyed the final hole. It looked like Marino and Steve Stricker were going to lose the playoff on the first hole, but they were saved when Tim Clark missed his 7-foot birdie-putt for the championship. Marino had a poor tee shot on the second playoff hole that cost him a stroke and Steve Stricker ended the playoff with a four-foot birdie.
