Mike Cameron told the Boston media Wednesday that he can steal 20-plus bases in 2010 if given the green light.
Cameron, 36, said he was held back on the base paths in Milwaukee. He hasn't swiped more than 20 bags since his days in San Diego, but he still shows great speed in the outfield and seems plenty capable of the feat. Cameron should be inching up on fantasy draft boards.

Red Sox signed OF Mike Cameron to a two-year, $15.5 million contract.
The deal also carries a limited no-trade clause. Cameron, 36, hit .250/.342/.452 with 24 home runs and 32 doubles in 628 plate appearances this past season for the Brewers. The Red Sox haven't decided whether to place him in left field or allow him to take over in center for Jacoby Ellsbury. He's a solid defender and should do well no matter where he's positioned.

According to Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald, Mike Cameron's two-year deal with the Red Sox contains a limited no-trade clause.
The deal will be officially announced Wednesday afternoon, so we should get all the facts shortly. Cameron, 36, hit .250/.342/.452 with 24 home runs and 32 doubles in 628 plate appearances this past season for the Brewers. He's expected to play either center or left field for Boston in 2010.

Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe has confirmed that Mike Cameron and the Red Sox have reached agreement on a two-year, $15.5 million contract.
The deal will be finalized once the outfielder takes a physical, which is scheduled for Tuesday in Boston. Cameron, 36, batted .250/.342/.452 with 24 home runs and 32 doubles in 628 plate appearances this past season for the Brewers. He's getting old but remains one of the game's top defensive outfielders and could either man left field or center for the Red Sox in 2010.

Cameron is 36 years of age but remains one of the top defenders in the game and hit a respectable .250/.342/.452 with 24 home runs and 32 doubles in 628 plate appearances this past season for the Brewers. The Cubs are targeting Mike Cameron to play center field for them in 2010, reports Gordon Wittenmeyer of the Chicago Sun-Times.
The only thing standing between the Cubs and Cameron is Milton Bradley. If and when the disgruntled outfielder is moved, it sounds as if Cameron will immediately be inked, a move that already has manager Lou Piniella's approval. Cameron remains an excellent fielder and is also remarkably consistent with the bat, having averaged 22 home runs and 75 RBI over the past 11 seasons with little fluctuation. The right-hander would be a great complementary player and would come without a long-term contract attached. Marlon Byrd was also mentioned as a person of interest to the club.

Free agent outfielder Mike Cameron told ESPN.com's Buster Olney this week that he wants to play for a contender in 2010.
Cameron hit .250 with 24 home runs, 32 doubles and a .795 OPS in 544 at-bats this season for the Brewers. "I feel like I can still play one of the better center fields in the game," he said. "I feel like I can play with the best of them. ... I'm just trying to get in the right spot to get in the playoffs." Olney suggests the Braves, Yankees, Mets or Rangers might be a good fit.

Mike Cameron suffered a mild concussion on Sunday afternoon after making a diving catch in the outfield.
"I think I hit my head when I slammed into the ground," Cameron said. "It's just weird, a weird feeling. I caught the ball, though. I've done it a few times." The 36-year-old free agent has suffered several concussions throughout his career. That's something potential suitors will want to make note of. He finished the year with a .250 batting average, 24 homers and 70 RBI.

According to Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune, Mike Cameron is expected to be on the Cubs' radar during the offseason.
The Cubs would like to move Kosuke Fukudome back to right field, and since 2006 first-round pick Tyler Colvin probably won't be ready to be a full-time player in 2010, Cameron would be a pretty good fit. Even better, the Cubs won't have to worry about any distractions, as Cameron has one of the best reputations in the game. The 36-year-old veteran is batting .255/.348/.453 with 21 homers and 64 RBI this season. He slugged two home runs against the Cubs on Monday night.

Mike Cameron is out until at least Friday with his strained hamstring.
"If I'm out, you know it's bad," Cameron said. "It's not good. It's spasming right now." Cameron was hurt on Saturday and has not played since. The Brewers are well equipped to deal with his furlough -- when Corey Hart returns from a rehab assignment Tuesday, the club will have seven active outfielders.

As Morosi notes, "Kendall, Counsell and Cameron are scheduled to become free agents after this season, which enhances their trade value." All four are now eligible to be traded to any team, but keep in mind that the deadline for such a transaction is August 31.

Mike Cameron went 3-for-4 and hit a two-run homer off Ryan Dempster on Thursday.
His first three-hit game since April 15. By month, Cameron has posted OPSs of 1097, 803 and 536. It looked like he might earn an All-Star bid with the way he played during April and May, but that's not going to happen now.

Mike Cameron's two game suspension for bumping an umpire has been reduced to one game.
The ruling came Friday at a hearing after Cameron appealed the initial suspension. He will serve the one game suspension Saturday. Under Major League Baseball's bizarre suspension rules, Cameron will play Friday before serving his suspension. Adjust your lineup accordingly. Jody Gerut will likely play in his place Saturday.
