Manny Corpas (elbow) is scheduled to pitch in a Dominican Winter League game on Tuesday, reports Thomas Harding of MLB.com.
Corpas underwent elbow surgery in late July and did not reappear for the Rockies. The former closer finished with a disappointing 5.88 ERA in 33 2/3 innings and will try to get back on track next season while serving in a setup role. Huston Street has taken over as the ninth-inning man in Colorado.

Manny Corpas is unlikely to pitch again in the regular season.
If the Rockies manage to take the National League Wild Card crown, he could feasibly help them in the playoffs. But it's not looking good. Corpas had surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow in late July.

Manny Corpas will undergo surgery on Friday to remove bone chips from his elbow and is headed to the disabled list, reports the Denver Post.
"I am a little nervous, but it was not getting better even after the cortisone shot," Corpas said. Corpas was just activated from the DL last week after missing a month with right elbow inflammation. He could return in September. Corpas' replacement on the roster has not yet been announced.

Rockies activated RHP Manny Corpas from the 15-day disabled list.
Corpas has been out since June 18 with right elbow inflammation. He was 1-3 with one save and a 5.40 ERA in 33 games before the injury and will attempt to work his way back into a setup role.

Manny Corpas (elbow) tossed a voluntary bullpen session Wednesday at Coors Field and declared himself ready to return.
The Rockies may choose to activate him Thursday, but it's not yet clear if he'll return immediately to the setup role. "I think I'm ready, but right now I don't know what will happen, because my friend [Joel Peralta] is pitching good [in the eighth inning]," said Corpas. "I'm OK. I don't care what they need -- seven, six or eight (innings) -- whatever."

Manny Corpas (elbow) pitched a scoreless innings Wednesday for Triple-A Colorado Springs and will throw for the team again Saturday.
"When he was finished, the report I got earlier this afternoon was that there were no ill-effects whatsoever," manager Jim Tracy said. "No pitch that he threw did he feel any discomfort whatsoever. As far as I'm concerned, the first test has been passed last night." Corpas should be back in the Colorado pen after the break.

Manny Corpas (elbow) tossed a successful bullpen session Monday.
"I don't know how hard I threw -- maybe 100 (mph) right now," Corpas said, smiling. "I threw pretty hard. And I threw my slider, everything." He was placed on the disabled list June 20 and is hoping to begin a rehab assignment before the end of the week. It sounds like he may be able to return shortly after the All-Star break.

Manny Corpas (elbow) has begun playing catch.
Corpas is still hoping to avoid surgery on his inflamed right elbow. "He’s not at the point of a bullpen session yet, but he is feeling okay which is a positive," said manager Jim Tracy. "We have our fingers crossed with him. Eventually we will have to stress him a little and see how (the elbow) reacts to that."

Rockies placed RHP Manny Corpas on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation.
Rockies team physicians haven't ruled out surgery for Corpas, the club's usual setup man. They want to allow him a few days of rest before making a decision. Matt Daley and Alan Embree will have to shoulder more eighth-inning responsibilities for however long he's out. A corresponding roster move will be made after Saturday's game.

An MRI revealed reliever Manny Corpas has bone chips in his elbow, which will likely lead to a stint on the DL.
Matt Daley or Alan Embree could slide into the setup role with Corpas sidelined. The Rockies and Corpas were surprised by the news, as Corpas had thrown the ball well recently.

Manny Corpas is day-to-day with elbow inflammation.
Corpas showed up to the ballpark Thursday with a swollen elbow and had an MRI taken shortly thereafter. The results aren't known yet, but at the very least, he'll be out a few days, if not longer. It was a surprise to both team and pitcher, as Corpas hadn't shown any indication of being injured. In fact, the setup man had thrown eight scoreless innings in his past 10 innings of work. If Corpas has to go on the disabled list, the Rockies may turn to Juan Rincon, a major league veteran who's found his groove again in Triple-A.

Manny Corpas threw a bullpen session Tuesday under the close watch of pitching coach Bob Apodaca and bullpen coach Jim Wright.
The Rockies are hoping to find some kind of fixable mechanical flaw in his delivery. He has a 6.75 ERA on top of an 0-3 record this season. Even worse, he's 0-for-8 in save opportunities dating back to last season. Huston Street has also struggled, but he seems to have a firm grasp on the closing role for now.

According to the Denver Post, Manny Corpas could be headed to Triple-A Colorado Springs if he continues to sruggle.
Copras gave up the game-winning run to Rich Aurilia in the 10th inning Sunday and now carries a 6.75 ERA on top of an 0-3 record. "He's well aware of what he needs to do," said manger Clint Hurdle. "We have laid it out in black and white. He's had a month-and-a-half of good pitching in the last seven months in the big leagues. We need better than that for him to stay here. He's well aware of that."

Manny Corpas is unavailable to close on Wednesday after throwing 70 pitches the last three days.
Corpas is 1-for-1 in save opportunities since taking over as closer, but is also sporting a 7.50 ERA in six innings during that span. Huston Street would get the call in a save situation on Wednesday.

The Rockies have named Manny Corpas as their new closer.
Corpas will take over the role from Huston Street, who has struggled early on with a 13.50 ERA through four appearances this season. Corpas said that Street will just be another arm in the bullpen rather than being a setup man. Translation: Street's fantasy value just plummeted. Corpas has a 4.15 ERA and three strikeouts through 4 1/3 innings this season and is worth a gamble in NL only leagues.

Manny Corpas, who may be losing ground in the Rockies' closer race to Huston Street, made a big statement Friday with a scoreless ninth inning.
"I felt better today than the other day," said Corpas, who has allowed just one run all spring. Manager Clint Hurdle won't reveal his choice just yet, but it sure sounds like Corpas is out in front. "I saw a slider that really looked nasty," Hurdle said after watching Corpas' outing. "It was a swing-and-miss slider, and I saw a couple of good sinkers." A decision should be made by Monday.

Manny Corpas gave up three hits and his first run of the spring Friday against the Rangers.
Huston Street has allowed anyone to reach base in five innings over his last four appearances, so the closer battle in Colorado again looks close after Corpas reportedly pulled way ahead last week. If it's about even, it would make sense to give Street the job and let him rebuild his trade value.
