AM's Perfect XI - Week 15

Thursday, November 30, 2017

Welcome to AM's Perfect XI - Week 15 player picks. This column focuses on Togga's Perfect XI game which you can play via their IOS and Android app. Download the apps via the link below and make sure you update regularly to take advantage of the constant enhancements:

Download the Togga app

Once downloaded, open the app and register an account. Once registered, click the Fantasy tab at the bottom of the app screen. Then from the Fantasy screen, click the arrow at the top of the app screen to select Perfect XI.

We've set up a Rotoworld PL Private League where you can challenge myself and the rest of the RW PL team over the course of the season. To join it download the app and then click the below link from your device, or find us from the Featured Leagues tab:

Each week I provide a Perfect XI of my own for the upcoming gameweek of Premier League fixtures, recommending 11 players to consider along with some honourable mentions for each position. The main 11 players listed won't necessarily be the exact players selected for my own Perfect XI fantasy side. The point of this column isn't to tell you exactly who to pick; it's to present some ideas to get you thinking. Hopefully you'll find the advice useful, whether you're playing Togga's game or looking at potential transfers for your official Fantasy Premier League team.

Mid-week 14 was an excellent one for my own PXI side as I was able to react to the unexpected benchings 30 minutes before kick-off to swap Hazard to Willian, Ramsey to Ozil and Coutinho to Mane to end the week on 198 points. I'm up to 270th in the overall rankings and feeling pretty happy about it.

Week 15 is a standard weekend round of fixtures with the first game kicking off at 12:30 GMT on Saturday between Chelsea & Newcastle at Stamford Bridge. It's important to have your fantasy team locked in ready for this game but remember in Perfect XI you can swap out a player from your squad right up to one minute before their match kicks off and bring in an alternative player whose match is also yet to kick off. This wonderful flexibility allows you to avoid the pain of a surprise benching or unreported last minute injury and a big fat ZERO. Just make sure you keep an eye on the starting line-ups as kick off approaches each week by following the Rotoworld PL Twitter account.

Here are your Week 15 fixtures:

Saturday 02 December
Chelsea v Newcastle
Brighton v Liverpool
Everton v Huddersfield
Leicester v Burnley
Stoke v Swansea
Watford v Spurs
West Brom v Crystal Palace
Arsenal v Man Utd

Sunday 03 December
Bournemouth v Southampton
Man City v West Ham

As always we want to focus on the players from teams with the "most winnable" match ups and there are two absolute stand-outs this weekend - Chelsea at home to Newcastle and Manchester City at home to West Ham. Liverpool attackers away at Brighton could also be worth looking at, as could revitalised Leicester at home to Burnley, although the Clarets are on an unbelievable run. Stoke defenders are also worth a look at home to Swansea. The remaining fixtures all look fairly evenly matched and so we'll be focusing on the five teams highlighted this week.

Once again, little analysis this week due to the quick turnaround and family commitments but we'll be back to a full strength column next week.

Thibaut Courtois - Another Chelsea clean sheet beckons at home to Newcastle.

Honourable Mentions: Ederson at home to West Ham, Lee Grant at home to Swansea

Nicolas Otamendi - Certain to start while John Stones remains out and should return another double-digit fantasy haul against West Ham.
Cesar Azpilicueta - The usual ever-present defender got a rare (and well-earned) rest in midweek so will return to lead the side in Week 15. I'm less sure about Marcos Alonso, who could be rested, hence he's not on my list.
Harry Maguire - Burnley are playing extremely well but I just have a hunch that Maguire might pop up with a goal.
Danilo - With the games coming thick and fast I expect him to start against the Hammers and he could prove a handy differential. If I'm wrong make the quick switch to Kyle Walker or Kieran Trippier.

Honourable Mentions: Kyle Walker at home to West Ham, Kieran Trippier away at Watford, Ryan Shawcross at home to Swansea, Jonjoe Kenny at home to Huddersfield, Sead Kolasinac at home to Manchester United

Eden Hazard - Unexpectedly rested in midweek and therefore certain to start at home to Newcastle. In scintillating form.
Philippe Coutinho - Same as Hazard, well rested after a bench cameo and sure to cause Brighton problems.
Riyad Mahrez - Starting to show glimpses of his best form under Claude Puel and should see plenty of the ball against the Clarets.
David Silva - Certain to start against West Ham after a rest in midweek. Kevin De Bruyne is due a rest but if he starts you should find a way to fit him in too, perhaps for Mahrez.

Honourable Mentions: Kevin De Bruyne / Leroy Sane at home to West Ham, Gylfi Sigurdsson at home to Huddersfield, Xherdan Shaqiri at home to Swansea, Paul Pogba away at Arsenal, Wilfried Zaha away at West Brom, Mesut Ozil at home to Manchester United

Mohamed Salah - The Premier League's top scorer was benched, but still managed two goals in 23 minutes against Stoke. Must be in your side at Brighton.
Gabriel Jesus - Subbed after 74 minutes in midweek while Sergio Aguero played 90 minutes again. Surely it's time for an Aguero rest, which means Jesus would spearhead the City attack against West Ham.

Honourable Mentions: Alvaro Morata at home to Newcastle, Harry Kane away at Watford, Jamie Vardy at home to Burnley, Richarlison at home to Tottenham, Wayne Rooney at home to Huddersfield, Alexis Sanchez at home to Manchester United
