AM's Players to watch Week 15

Tuesday, December 4, 2018

Welcome to AM’s Players to Watch for Game week 15. The festive period is upon us and that games will be here in a flurry. Be sure to pay attention to the deadlines over the next few weeks so that you're not caught out making your transfers. Also, with this midweek slate being one that will likely include massive rotation, be sure to save your -4 hits for a more stable gameweek unless your team is decimated with injuries.  I’ll still be offering general advice on players that can be targeted in Draft Fantasy, FPL, Fantrax and more.

Before getting to the new editions to the list, let’s take a look at how Nik’s guys did in game week 14.

Eden Hazard

Jamie Vardy

Patrick van Aanholt

Leroy Sane

Harry Kane

Sergio Aguero ©

All in all a good week from Nik. Hazard and Sane picked up assists and could have had more. Vardy and Kane were on point from the spot. Van Aanholt got the clean sheet and could’ve easily had attacking returns too. The only bummer was Aguero missing out but, you win some and you lose some.

Here are the fixtures for Gameweek 15…

Brighton v Crystal Palace

West Ham v Cardiff

Watford v Man City

These next two days will feature some interesting fixtures. Highlighted by Man United versus Arsenal there are games with massive midtable implications as well as a few interesting storylines. Can managerless Southampton topple Spurs? How about Claudio Ranieri taking on his former employers for the second week in a row. Add in the weirdest Derby in the Premier League with Brighton v Crystal Palace and there’s something for everyone.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (MF - Everton v Newcastle) - Flying under the radar, Sigurdsson has become one of the more consistent midfield assets in FPL. Unlucky to not score or assist versus Liverpool, Siggy and the Toffees will be ready for Newcastle on their return to Goodison Park.

Anderson (MF - West Ham v Cardiff) - Marko Arnautovic has been struggling with fitness lately and while Chicharito had a good game versus Newcastle, I trust Cardiff to keep him in check. A player that they can’t gameplan for is Anderson. His explosiveness is more than teams are able to deal with and Anderson also has a wicked shot on him. A goal and an assist in another Hammers rout looks likely.

Steve Cook (DF - Bournemouth v Huddersfield)- Bournemouth has struggled to keep clean sheets lately but with Huddersfield’s anemic attack missing Steve Mounie, now is as good a time as any to start your Bournemouth defenders.

Jamie Vardy (FW - Leicester @ Fulham) - The penalty king is coming for his former manager. In a classic revenge game versus his old manager, Vardy and the Foxes should score some goals past the leaky Fulham defense. In what will be an end to end game Vardy is a good bet to get a brace here.

Captain Choice: Callum Wilson (FW - Bournemouth v Huddersfield) - Scoring on the champions one week, getting my armband the next. The Huddersfield defense has improved but the Bournemouth attack is pretty good too. Containing Wilson and co is easier said than done. I’m starting Wilson and Ryan Fraser in FPL and I’d advise others to do the same. Here’s to green arrows!

Honorable Mentions: Harry Kane, Alexandre Lacazette, Hector Bellerin, Lucas Digne, Dele Alli, Pascal Gross
