Welcome to Playing the Tips!

Each week this will be the one-stop resource to soak in all the picks from our group of fantasy staffers from Rotoworld.com. We’ll have all of our selections from the GolfChannel.com, Yahoo! Fantasy Golf plus my new expanded feature on my weekly selection for One-and-Done players.

Glass ($12,271,028; Rank: 901)

The best thing about coming in second in a tournament that pays out a $10 million prize pool is that second place money is really, really good. It’s even better when the first place winner was probably not on many rosters! For the second straight week McIlroy back-doored the top 10 (T6) and that combined with Furyk’s solo second made for happy days in the GC game. In Group 3 Palmer made the cut and in Group 4, Compton had a very noble finish as well. With over $3 million the last two weeks, I’ve shot up the leaderboard!

Group 1: Jordan Spieth

Group 2: Gary Woodland

Group 3: Justin Hicks

Group 4: Robert Allenby

ANALYSIS:  Spieth is the selection from Group 1 this week as the Dallas resident heads home after a T2, T12 and T4 run beginning at the Masters. I could make a case for any of the guys in Group 1 but I’m riding the home-town hero. I’ve gone with Woodland here because he’s been knocking for quite some time in 2013-14. The only way I’m going to make up ground this week is avoiding course horses so this throws out Keegan Bradley, Martin Kaymer and Marc Leishman. Justin Hicks has made eight cuts on the bounce and Robert Allenby should hit plenty of GIR.

Rob Bolton ($9,809,561; Rank: 6,330)

Group 1: Keegan Bradley

Group 2: Marc Leishman

Group 3: Robert Streb

Group 4: Wes Roach

ANALYSIS:  Rob is loading up with THE two course horses and two greenhorns in Group 3 and 4 after having a quiet week with Kuchar and Donald at THE PLAYERS.

Ryan O’ Sullivan ($12,808,152; Rank: 501)

Group 1: Matt Kuchar

Group 2: Martin Kaymer

Group 3: Justin Hicks

Group 4: Chad Collins

ANALYSIS: Adam Scott and Zach Johnson didn’t fire last week and I FINALLY made up some ground. There’s no question that Kuchar is the safest play this week (or any week) and it’s why I’m going with Spieth. We match with Hicks and Ned matches with Kaymer. Chad Collins becomes the great separator!

Ned Brown ($13,794,585; Rank: 183)

Group 1: Keegan Bradley

Group 2: Martin Kaymer

Group 3: Jeff Overton

Group 4: Ryuji Imada

ANALYSIS: I’ve racked up over $3 million in the last two weeks and I’m STILL $1.5 million behind Ned. Like O, he’s bouncing with Kaymer this week and is looking to long-shot Imada to sneak in a few bucks. #stillchasing
