Expert Picks: Byron Nelson

Tuesday, May 16, 2017

Welcome to Playing the Tips!

Each week this will be the one-stop resource to soak in all the picks from our fantasy staffers at Rotoworld.com.

Here is a quick rundown of what sites and formats we will cover each week:

Page 1 will feature all of our selections for GolfChannel.com and Yahoo! Fantasy Golf.

Page 2 will go over One-and-Done as well as Daily Fantasy Golf picks.

Page 3 will take a look at the European Tour, with the Fantasy Race to Dubai.

Before we look ahead, Mo Yoshimoto takes a look at last week's action in his PLAYERS Championship recap.

Now for the picks...

Ollie Schniederjans ($18,300)
Keegan Bradley ($18,000)
Graham DeLaet ($17,300)
Danny Lee ($16,900)
Bud Cauley ($16,000)
Michael Kim ($12,100)

ANALYSIS:  Looking for as many ball-strikers as possible who can pepper greens and rack up birdies in bunches. I was also willing to take a flier on Michael Kim as he's been a steady cut-maker and has ties to Texas.

Jason Dufner ($25,100)

Jason Dufner ($25,100)

Tony Finau ($24,300)

Danny Lee ($16,900)

Bud Cauley ($16,000)

Jonathan Randolph ($9,600)

Tom Hoge ($8,000)

ANALYSIS: A little Texas knowledge with Lee and Hoge. The other four are all trending nicely on the form line.

*Make sure you check our Twitter accounts for any updates before the first tee ball flies on Thursday. Change in weather, tee times, etc. can always lead to last-minute changes and we will let you know through our social media channels.

This week's Strategy: The weather in Texas is always fun to deal with. At the moment, it looks like you want to have as many AM starters on both Thursday and Friday, so splitting tee-time waves is ideal, but no required if it means passing up on too much talent.

Group A

Marc Leishman (10): Loves this week's layout and has the results to back it up (five top 15s in 8 starts).

Dustin Johnson (6): Still the hottest golfer in the world and has plenty of steady success at TPC Four Seasons.

=SUPER SUBS =

Louis Oosthuizen, Jason Day, Patrick Reed

Group B

Jordan Spieth (6): Can't say he loves this week's course, but he's the class of Group B.

Sang Kang (10): If there is anytime to hop on the Kang train, now is the time as he arrives with top 30s in each of his last four (individual) starts and also calls Dallas home, so he should have an added comfort this week.

Matt Kuchar (6): Not the greatest of form but 9-for-9 at the Byron Nelson with four top 15s.

Charley Hoffman (7): Seems to elevate his game when he heads to Texas. Last three finishes here: T12-T2-T8.

=SUPER SUBS=
Brandt Snedeker, Ryan Moore, Danny Lee

Group C

Brooks Koepka (9): After a missed cut in his 2014 debut, has posted T16 and runner-up finishes over his last two trips to TPC Four Seasons Resort.

Sergio Garcia (8): Defending champ here and he seems to be getting all the bounces lately, winning at Augusta National and then grabbing a hole-in-one at THE PLAYERS.

=SUPER SUBS=
Russell Henley, Tony Finau, Jason Dufner, Graham DeLaet
