Expert Picks: British Masters

Tuesday, October 9, 2018

Welcome to Playing the Tips!

Each week this will be the one-stop resource to soak in all the picks from our fantasy staffers at Rotoworld.com.

Starting this week, we are improving the column schedule a bit.

Monday is when you'll be able to read our previews and recap of the previous week.

On Tuesday we will release the expert picks for the Fantasy Race to Dubai (you are here) and then the DFS Dish which was previously published on Wednesday.

Then, on Wednesday morning we will have the Expert Picks for the PGA TOUR which is the CIMB Classic this week.

This new schedule will allow your research process to take place early in the week before you double check your picks with ours on Wednesday morning.  Then, feel free to reach out to any of us on Twitter if you have to discuss.

Editor’s Note: With over 15,000 reviews, DRAFT is the highest rated fantasy sports app. For a limited time, DRAFT is giving Rotoworld readers a FREE entry into a real money draft and a Money-Back Guarantee up to $100! Here's the link.

2018 Fantasy Race to Dubai

Dave Tindall is our main man in Europe. In addition to his weekly previews of European Tour events on Mondays, he’ll share his selections and analysis for the Fantasy Race to Dubai at EuropeanTour.com.

Format: Pick 6 golfers. Players accumulate points based on Race to Dubai (R2D) points earned. Captain’s points are doubled. Unlimited team changes can be made each week.

Team Tindall (Team name: YESSIR!)

Last week: Had Hatton and Fleetwood but no back-up so a paltry gain of 34 spots when I was looking for a big move.

Pos
: 6,728

Francesco Molinari
(captain): Can do no wrong this season after his Open win and 5-out-of-5 Ryder Cup heroics. Lives in London so can sleep in own bed and practices at The Wisley, another great Surrey course. Watch him go!

Tommy Fleetwood
: Runner-up in Scotland last week and the Ryder Cup star is a beacon of consistency. That's eight top 25s in his last nine worldwide starts. A home game should continue that run.

Justin Rose: The three previous tournament hosts have finished 33-MC-15 but none were playing at Rose's level so I expect a very solid week despite all his added duties.

Thorbjorn Olesen: Lives in London and enjoyed the short hop to Walton Heath when coming through US Open qualifying there in the summer. On a high after his Ryder Cup thumping of Jordan Spieth.

Eddie Pepperell
: Qualified for the US Open in both 2013 and 2017 after good knocks around Walton Heath so put that together with his strong run of recent form and he's a must-pick.

Matt Wallace
: Another home player with proven form at Walton Heath after making it through US Open qualifying at the Surrey track for the last two years. T28 last week and could challenge for a fourth win of the season.

Matt Cooper is part of our European team. He contributes to player news, and he’ll share his selections and analysis for the Fantasy Race to Dubai at EuropeanTour.com. He was the winner of the Ladies European Tour’s Fantasy League in 2011.

Team Cooper (Team name: NormanStanleyFletcher)

Last week:
Hatton and Fleetwood in the top three was a big help and the top 500 is back in my sights.

Position: 506th

Francesco Molinari (captain): His form was superb in the summer, he rediscovered it at the Ryder Cup, he can sleep at home, bask in the glory and he's already enjoyed English success this year at Wentworth.

Tommy Fleetwood: No reason to think the challenge won't suit, kept the form up last week, the only concern is fatigue but I'll roll with it.

Justin Rose: A concern about the hosting duties but he's too good to leave out.

Matthew Fitzpatrick: The track should suit, he likes playing on home soil and it's about time he rejigged his form.

Eddie Pepperell: He likes playing at home, the Pepper Army will be out in force, he plays around the area in practice and his form is superb.

Chris Wood: Has been waiting for this week for a while. Loves traditional designs. Can he go one better than the three seconds this year?
