Welcome to Playing the Tips!

Each week this will be the one-stop resource to soak in all the picks from our fantasy staffers at Rotoworld.com.

Page 1 is going to look at Daily Fantasy Sports picks (FanDuel, Yahoo, and DraftKings).

Page 2
will have a look at One-and-Done options as well as PGATOUR.com's fantasy game.

Daily Fantasy Sports [DFS]

I will be giving out selections for one team for each DFS site, per week.

These lineups will be entered into a large-entry Guaranteed Prize Pool. That means we need to take a risk or two, in order to separate ourselves from the field.

The idea is to provide you a list of names to consider. I would not recommend copying these teams, golfer for golfer. Duplicate teams are no fun and don't help anyone.

FanDuel Picks:

Gary Woodland ($12,000): Gets a $2,600 boost this week in salary but it's well deserved given his improved confidence with that flat stick that we've been talking about for a few months now.

Justin Thomas ($12,300): Stacking the deck at the top since there are plenty of low-end value plays available on FD this week. JT has fired a 59 here at Waialae which is good enough for me.

Patton Kizzire ($8,800): Flashing signs of form over the last few months. Just in time for a chance to defend his title here at Waialae.

Dylan Frittelli ($8,700): This price point might be laughable by the end of the year. He has all the tools to be a top-30 golfer in the world. No reason for 50 other golfers to be priced ahead of him in this field. Doesn't have the course experience but has been busy in December back in Africa.

Sungjae Im ($8,600): Tried to stay sharp over the holidays with an appearance over in Asia. He way be just 5-for-8 to kick off his career but his underlying stats suggest he's actually quite consistent in terms of cut-made probability.

Kevin Kisner ($9,600): We haven't seen him in action recently but he did keep the sticks warm with an appearance at the QBE Shootout. Heading to Waialae where he's finished T5-T4-T25 over the last three editions.

DraftKings Picks:

Justin Thomas ($11,400): I wanted to jam JT and Woodland in at the top but DK's pricing made it a bit tougher to do that. I will settle for just JT as he led the field in SG T2G last week at the Sentry TOC.

Brandt Snedeker ($8,200): Got a $800 price bump despite a poor finish last week. The bookmakers know what's up here. Sneds should be warmed up and ready to rock this week.

Steve Stricker ($7,300): You wouldn't think of him as an elite fantasy scorer but he's posted more DK Points verus the field in 6 of his 8 rounds played here since 2012.

Scott Piercy ($7,600): Finished runner-up here in 2015 and calls this one of his favorite courses on TOUR.

Chez Reavie ($7,600): We don't have any form to lean on here but Reavie is a straight shooter so he should have plenty of scoring chances on this tight track.

Pat Perez ($7,700): Kept the bus running with an appearance at the QBE Shootout. Waialae is a coastal courses with grainy greens which is right up Perez' alley. It's no surprise to see he is 14-for-16 here with eight top 25s.

Yahoo Picks:

Gary Woodland ($40): I couldn't get it done on DK but Yahoo's pricing allowed me a top-heavy core of JT and Woodland. Both arriving off stellar ball-striking weeks on Maui and have plenty of fond memories at Waialae.

Justin Thomas ($46): This isn't a course that you can easily overpower but JT has still feasted over the years. That includes a WIN in 2017 when he reached 27-UNDER!

Sungjae Im ($32): This event hasn't been kind to first-timers over the last five years but we did see Russell Henley pick it apart on his debut in 2013. The young Korea has all the tools to get himself into contention early and often this season.

Steve Stricker ($22): the 51-year-old is the golden key that unlocks a lot of doors this week. He's splitting time between tours but he remarkable season on the Champions Tour lets us know that he probably still belongs on the main stage. He is 13-for-14 at Waialae with six top 10s.

Cameron Champ ($33): Won't be able to overpower the course but he didn't need to overpower the CC of Jackson en route to his first PGA TOUR victory. Stick with the hot hand here and let it ride until he cools off.

Scott Piercy ($27): He's been busy this season with six starts already including five straight top 30s. He's thrown in a trio of top 10s in that stretch and should be one to keep drafting as we head to another course that suits his eye.
