Chase d'Arnaud (No. 40)
The deadline was quiet for third basemen, with Aramis Ramirez, Mark Reynolds, Ian Stewart and Kevin Kouzmanoff all staying put. It's doubtful Ramirez will go in a waiver deal this month, but someone might take a flier on Kouzmanoff. He's hitting .305/.340/.605 with 12 homers in 177 at-bats since getting demoted to Triple-A Sacramento.Chris Davis went from Texas to Baltimore, but he'll be playing first base for the Orioles. I think that's a mistake -- he's a better defender than Reynolds in my eyes -- but at least he will get another shot to play regularly. He probably won't hit better than .220-.230, but he could be good for 8-10 homers the rest of the way.Lawrie is hitting .368/.438/.684 with three homers in 14 games for Triple-A Las Vegas since returning from a fractured hand, but the Jays aren't likely to suddenly shift Bautista back to the outfield to make room for him. It may be that he'll have to wait until September for his promotion no matter how well he plays.
