NL ONLY

Jaff Decker OF, Padres (Yahoo: N/A)

Now that Cameron Maybin is back on the disabled list with a PCL tear in his left knee, the Padres have called up Decker to replace him on the active roster. Once ranked as the No. 82 prospect in the game by Baseball America back in 2010, Decker has seen his stock drop in recent seasons due to underperformance and injury. The 23-year-old is prone to the strikeout, so don't expect much in the way of batting average, but his patience and power potential makes him interesting. It's not clear how much he'll play, but take a chance if you have the roster space.

Juan Perez OF, Giants (Yahoo: 0 percent owned)

With Angel Pagan and Pablo Sandoval both out indefinitely with injuries, Perez makes for an intriguing short-term add. The 26-year-old was called up from the minors last weekend after he hit .296 with nine home runs and 12 stolen bases through his first 57 games this season with Triple-A Fresno. The Giants have only used him in center field so far, but he also has experience at third base and shortstop. Even if he gets most of his playing time against southpaws, he has enough pop and speed to be useful.

AL ONLY

Josh Thole C, Blue Jays (Yahoo: 0 percent owned)

The Blue Jays stashed Thole in the minors to begin the season, but they brought him up from Triple-A Buffalo last week after Henry Blanco was designated for assignment. While the 26-year-old figures to be R.A. Dickey's personal catcher in the short-term, there could be increased playing time in his future if J.P. Arencibia (75/6 K/BB ratio, 32.3 percent strikeout rate) continues to flail away. Thole really struggled with the Mets last season, but he has a knack for making contact and has shown good on-base ability in the past. Worth a flier.

Yoervis Medina RP, Mariners (Yahoo: 0 percent owned)

Tom Wilhelmsen has looked rather vulnerable recently, so if Carter Capps is already scooped up in your league, consider the unheralded Medina. Armed with a fastball that averages nearly 95 mph, the 25-year-old right-hander has a 3.32 ERA and 23 strikeouts over his first 21 2/3 innings in the majors. Walks are a trouble spot with him, similar to many young hard-throwers, but he could be part of a closer-by-committee if Eric Wedge decides to give Wilhelmsen a break from the role. Go ahead and speculate if you need saves.
