  • With just three games caught, I can’t rank Gattis with the catchers yet (I use five-game eligibility for the rankings). Still, he belongs in the top five in leagues in which he’s eligible (and in the rest when he gains eligibility). I’m not 100 percent sure it will last; for all of his power, Gattis just isn’t a very good DH option and the Astros might be able to do better in the second half, making him a part-time player. Still, it’s not like there are a whole bunch of quality fantasy catchers at the moment.

  • Swihart has looked surprisingly comfortable as the Red Sox’s left fielder since being called up to replace the injured Brock Holt, and with his recent triple binge, he’s making a case to remain the starter after Holt gets back. I think the Red Sox would prefer to send him down and let him continue to get in his reps behind the plate, but even if they go that route for now, Swihart could still be quite a factor in the second half.

  • Zunino has followed up his awesome April at Triple-A Tacoma (.397/.438/.767 in 73 AB) by hitting .193/.314/.409 in May. It’s not a disaster, since his strikeout rate hasn’t ballooned, but it won’t help his chances of pushing Iannetta in Seattle.

  • Murphy is hitting .265/.296/.647 with five homers in 17 games for Triple-A Albuquerque after missing the first month of the season. The Rockies are happy with what Hundley gives them when he’s healthy, but he’s often injured and Murphy should be the catcher of the future. He could get an extended opportunity in the second half if Hundley goes down again or gets traded.
