Looking Ahead: 91 days to go

During the off-season, Looking Ahead gives a snapshot of where drivers finished in 2012 and what’s ahead for them in 2013. We will look at drivers who scored at least 250 points in the Cup Series and those who earned at least 200 points in the Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series.
With 91 days to go until the 2013 season-opening Daytona 500, here are some driver recaps followed by a tentative list of 2013 Sprint Cup Driver/Team lineups.
Sprint Cup:
Brian Vickers finished 35th in the standings and earned 250 points.
2012: Drove the No. 55 Toyota for Michael Waltrip Racing. In eight starts, he had three top five and five top ten finishes; led 158 laps, had an average start of 16.0 and an average finish of 13.2.
Best start: 2 - Martinsville 10/28/2012
Best finishes: 4 - Sonoma 06/24/2012 and Bristol 08/25/2012
Last Cup Win: Michigan 08/16/2009
2013: Vickers will drive a Dollar General Toyota full-time in the Nationwide Series for Joe Gibbs Racing. Car number has not been determined yet. Vickers is still scheduled to run nine 2013 Cup races in MWR’s No. 55 Toyota.
David Reutimann finished 34th in the standings and earned 373 points.
2012: Drove the No. 10 Chevrolet for Tommy Baldwin Racing in 21 races and also four races for other teams. In 25 starts, he had an average start of 31.9 and a 29.1 average finish.
Best Cup start: 16 - Kansas 04/22/2012
Best Cup finish: 11 - Daytona 07/07/2012
Last Cup Win: Chicago 07/10/2010

Nationwide Series:
Travis Pastrana finished 33rd in the standings and earned 204 points.
2012: Drove the No. 99 Toyota for Robby Benton Racing in eight races and one race in the No. 60 Ford for Roush Fenway Racing. In the nine races, he led six laps, had an average start of 22.1 and a 21.4 average finish. He also made one start in the Camping Truck Series driving ThorSport’s No. 98 Toyota Tundra (finished 15th).

Best NNS finish: 13 - Indianapolis 07/28/2012
Last NNS Win: None so far.
2013: Pastrana is tentatively working out a deal to drive full-time in the Nationwide Series for Roush Fenway Racing. No details available at this time.
Trevor Bayne finished 32nd in the standings and earned 208 points.
2012: Drove the No. 60 Ford for Roush Fenway Racing in eight races. He scored one pole, led 74 laps, earned one top five and three top ten finishes. He had an average start of 5.5 and a 10.0 average finish. Bayne also drove the Wood Brothers No. 21 Ford in the Sprint Cup Series in 16 races with two top ten finishes.
