Wrap-up: Sonoma, Road America

The Nationwide Series Johnsonville Sausage 200 road course race was held on Saturday at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. On Sunday, the Sonoma Raceway road course in Sonoma, California was the site of the Sprint Cup Toyota-Save Mart 350. The Camping World Truck Series returns to action for the UNOH 225 on Thursday, June 26th at Kentucky Speedway. Also listed below are quick notes on the ARCA Series and four NASCAR ‘Home Track’ racing series.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series

Jamie McMurray wins the Coors Light Pole Award for the 25th Annual Toyota-Save Mart 350 with a lap of 75.422 seconds, 94.986 mph. This is the No. 1 Chevrolet SS driver's ninth pole in 382 NSCS races. His last pole, 81 races ago, came at Martinsville Speedway in March 2011. This is his fourth top-10 start in 2013 and his second pole in 11 races at Sonoma Raceway. His previous pole came in 2007. He led two laps in the race and finished in 25th place. He is 21st in the point standings.

Did Not Qualify: No one, only 43 teams entered the event.

Race Winner:  Martin Truex Jr. won the 25th Annual Toyota-Save Mart 350, his second victory in 277 NSCS races. He breaks a 218-race winless streak - second longest in series history (Bill Elliott, 226, 2001, Homestead-Miami Speedway) - dating to June 4, 2007 at Dover. This is the No. 56 Toyota Camry driver's seventh top-10 finish in 2013. This is his first victory and second top-10 finish in eight races at Sonoma Raceway. He is the track's ninth consecutive different winner, seventh consecutive first-time road course winner and eighth first-time road course winner.

Rookie of the Race:  Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is the top rookie finisher. The No. 17 Ford Fusion driver started 37th and finished 27th. The only other ROTY contender in the event was Danica Patrick (finished 29th). Stenhouse is currently 19th in the 2013 point standings.

Contingency Awards:
- Martin Truex Jr. won the 3M Lap Leader Award for leading the most laps (51 of 110).
- Jamie McMurray won the Duralast Brake in the Race award given to the highest eligible driver in the running order at the time of the first caution of each race.
- Toyota Racing Development (TRD) won the Mahle Clevite Engine Builder of the Race award. They supplied the engine in Truex Jr.’s No. 56 Toyota.
- Matt Kenseth won the American Ethanol Green Flag Restart award for recording the fastest average speed on restarts and finishing the race on the lead lap. The No. 20 Toyota Camry driver earned the award for his 19th place finish.
- Alan Gustafson, crew chief on the No. 24 Chevrolet SS driven by Jeff Gordon, won the Moog Problem Solver of the Race award.  The award goes to the crew chief that improves the most from first half of the race to the second half utilizing the 40 best lap times (improved 0.923 seconds). Gordon started the race in 10th place and finished in second.
- Marcos Ambrose wins the Mobil 1 Command Performance Driver of the Race award given to the winner of the race or the next-highest finishing driver displaying the Mobil 1 decal. He earned the award for his seventh place finish. The driver of the No. 9 Ford moved up one spot to 22nd in the 2013 Sprint Cup point standings.

Points Leader: Jimmie Johnson leads the point standings by 25 points over Carl Edwards.

NASCAR Nationwide Series
Time Trials: 
AJ Allmendinger won the Coors Light Pole Award for the 4th Annual Johnsonville Sausage 200 Presented by Menards with a lap of 133.410 seconds, 109.233 mph. This is the No. 22 Ford Mustang driver's first pole in nine NNS races. It is his first race at Road America.

Did Not Qualify: No one, only 40 cars entered.

Race Winner: Sprint Cup regular AJ Allmendinger wins the 4th Annual Johnsonville Sausage 200 Presented by Menards, his first victory in nine NNS races. This is the No. 22 Ford Mustang driver's first top-10 finish in 2013. He is not eligible for points in this series.

Rookie of the Race: Kyle Larson, the No. 32 Chevrolet Camaro driver, started 13th and finished seventh.  This was ahead of the rest of the 2013 Rookie of the Year contenders earning him the Sunoco Rookie of the Race award.

Contingency Awards:
- Justin Allgaier wins the Mobil 1 Driver of the Race award at Elkhart Lake in the Nationwide Series. The award is given to the winner of the race or the next-highest finishing driver displaying the Mobil 1 decal. The driver of the No. 31 Chevrolet Camaro earned the award for his second place finish.
- Billy Johnson, driver of the No. 16 Ford, won the 3M Lap Leader award for leading the most laps (10 of 55).
- Johnson also won the Duralast Brake in the Race award given to the highest eligible driver in the running order at the time of the first caution of each race.
- Penske Engines won the Mahle Clevite Engine Builder of the Race award. They built the engine in Allmendinger’s No. 22 Ford.

Points Leader: Regan Smith leads the point standings by 28 points over Justin Allgaier.
