Wrap-up: Charlotte II

The Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina hosted the Nationwide Series Dollar General 300 on Friday night and the Sprint Cup Bank of America 500 on Saturday night. The Camping World Truck Series will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Talladega Superspeedway. The K&N Pro Series-West and NASCAR Toyota Series (Mexico) held races this past weekend as well.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Time Trials
: Jeff Gordon (24 Chevrolet) won the Pole Award for the Bank of America 500 with a lap of 194.308 mph. This is his 74th pole in 720 NSCS races; his second pole and 16th top-10 start in 2013 and his ninth pole in 42 races at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He earned his first career pole at Charlotte on Oct. 10, 1993, becoming the youngest pole winner at the track -- 22 years, 2 months, 6 days. The record still stands. Gordon won five straight poles for the spring races at Charlotte between 1994 and 1998. He led 26 laps in the race and finished in seventh place.
Did Not Qualify: None. Only 43 teams on the entry list.
Winner:  Brad Keselowski won the Bank of America 500, his 10th victory in 156 NSCS races. This is his first victory and 13th top-10 finish in 2013. It is his first victory and second top-10 finish in nine races at Charlotte. Keselowski is 14th in the 2013 NSCS point standings.

Sprint Cup regular Kyle Busch won the Coors Light Pole Award for the Dollar General 300 with a lap of 183.387 mph. This is the No. 54 Toyota driver's 35th pole in 267 NNS races. It is his ninth pole and 18th top-10 NNS start in 2013 and his first pole in 21 NNS races at Charlotte.
Did Not Qualify: No. 42 Josh Wise, No. 52 Joey Gase, No. 46 J.J. Yeley, No. 92 Dexter Stacey, No. 50 Danny Efland and No. 73 Derrike Cope.
Winner: Sprint Cup regular Kyle Busch won the Dollar General 300, his 62nd victory in 267 NNS races. This is the No. 54 Toyota driver's 11th NNS victory and 20th top-10 finish in 2013. It is his eighth victory and 18th top-10 finish in 21 NNS races at Charlotte.
