Wrap-up: Talladega

The Talladega Superspeedway in Lincoln, Alabama hosted the Camping World Truck Series fred's 250 on Saturday and the Sprint Cup Camping World RV Sales 500 on Sunday. The Nationwide Series will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Texas Motor Speedway. The K&N Pro Series-East and NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour held their season finales this past weekend.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Time Trials
: Qualifying was cancelled for the Camping World RV Sales 500 due to weather conditions. The 43 drivers who made the race were set by the order of practice speeds in the first practice. Aric Almirola (43 Ford), quickest in practice, started first but does not get credit for a pole. He led eight laps, finished 22nd and is 18th in the point standings.  
Did Not Qualify: No. 12 Sam Hornish Jr. did not have enough race attempts to have practice speeds considered. They were the 44th team entered.
Winner:  Jamie McMurray (1 Chevrolet) won the Camping World RV Sales 500, his seventh victory in 398 NSCS races. This is his first victory and eighth top-10 finish in 2013. It is his second victory and seventh top-10 finish in 23 races at Talladega. McMurray is 14th in the 2013 NSCS point standings.

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series
Time Trials:
Jeb Burton (4 Chevrolet Silverado) won the Keystone Light Pole Award for the fred's 250 with a lap of 176.182 mph. This is his sixth pole in 23 NCWTS races. It is his sixth pole and 14th top-10 start in 2013 and his first pole at Talladega. Burton led one lap in the race and finished in 18th place.
Did Not Qualify: No. 50 Danny Efland and No. 10 Jennifer Jo Cobb.
Winner: Johnny Sauter (98 Toyota Tundra) won the fred's 250, his ninth victory in 126 NCWTS races. This is his third victory and 11th top-10 finish in 2013. This is his first victory and third top-10 finish in five races at Talladega. Sauter also won the season opener at Daytona giving him the 2013 superspeedway sweep.
