Wrap-up: Bristol

The Bristol Motor Speedway hosted the Nationwide Series Drive to Stop Diabetes 300 on Saturday and the Sprint Cup Food City 500 on Sunday. The Camping World Truck Series returns to action with the Kroger 200, Saturday, March 29 at Martinsville Speedway. Also, the latest results on the ARCA Racing Series and the NASCAR “Home Tracks” are shown below.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Time Trials:
Denny Hamlin won the Coors Light Pole Award for the Food City 500 with a track qualifying record lap of 14.761 seconds, 129.991 mph. Kyle Busch held the previous record with 129.535 mph/14.813 seconds. This is the No. 11 Toyota Camry driver's 18th pole in 295 NSCS races. It is his first pole and second top-10 start in 2014. This is Hamlin's second pole in 17 races at Bristol. Hamlin led four laps and finished the race in sixth place.
Did Not Qualify: No. 35 David Reutimann and No. 77 Dave Blaney.
Winner:
Carl Edwards won the Food City 500, his 22nd victory in 341 NSCS races. This is the No. 99 Ford Fusion driver's first victory and third top-10 finish in 2014. It is his third victory and eighth top-10 finish in 20 races at Bristol.

NASCAR Nationwide Series
Time Trials:
Sprint Cup regular Kyle Larson won the Coors Light Pole Award for the Drive to Stop Diabetes 300 with a lap of 15.415 seconds, 124.476 mph. This is the No. 42 Chevrolet driver's first pole in 37 NNS races. It is his fourth NNS top-10 start in 2014. Larson led two laps in the race and finished in second place.
Did Not Qualify: No. 76 Willie Allen and No. 67 Tommy Joe Martins.
Winner: Sprint Cup regular Kyle Busch (Nationwide Series No. 54 Toyota) wins the Drive to Stop Diabetes 300, his 65th victory in 274 NNS races. Busch now has 16 NASCAR national series points race wins at Bristol, which is more than any driver at any track in NASCAR national series history. The breakdown: 5 in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series; 7 in the NASCAR Nationwide Series; 4 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. This is his second NNS victory and fourth top-10 finish in 2014. This is his seventh victory and 16th top-10 finish in 20 NNS races at Bristol.
