Wrap-up: Martinsville Speedway

The Martinsville Speedway hosted the Camping World Truck Series Kroger 250 on Sunday (after the Cup race, postponed from Saturday due to rain) and the Sprint Cup STP 500 on Sunday. The Nationwide Series returns to action with the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300, Friday, April 4 at the Texas Motor Speedway. The latest results on the ARCA Racing Series and the NASCAR “Home Tracks” are shown below.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Time Trials:
Kyle Busch won the Coors Light Pole Award for the STP 500 with a lap of 18.998 seconds, 99.674 mph. With a first-round speed of 100.201 mph (18.898 seconds), Joey Logano set the track qualifying record. The previous record was set by Denny Hamlin on Oct. 25, 2013 (99.595 mph/19.013 seconds). This is Busch's 14th pole in 335 NSCS races. It is his first pole and third top-10 start in 2014. Busch now has scored one Coors Light Pole in seven consecutive seasons. It is the No. 18 Toyota driver's first pole in 19 races at Martinsville Speedway. Busch led 22 laps and finished the race in 14th place.

Winner:
Kurt Busch won the STP 500, his 25th victory in 477 NSCS races. This is the No. 41 Chevrolet SS driver's first victory and second top-10 finish in 2014. With the victory, Busch breaks an 83-start winless drought. His last win came at Dover on Oct. 2, 2011. This is his second victory and fifth top-10 finish in 28 races at Martinsville Speedway. Busch moved up four spots to 20th in the 2014 NSCS point standings.

Standings: Regan Smith leads the point standings by 0 points over Trevor Bayne. They are tied at 185 points each but Smith has 4 bonus points to Bayne’s 0.

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series
Time Trials:
Qualifying was cancelled due to weather conditions. The 36 drivers who made the race were set by the order of practice speeds in the first practice. No. 54 Toyota Tundra driver Darrell Wallace Jr. was the fastest in practice and led the field to the green flag. Wallace led 34 laps and finished in second place.
Did Not Qualify:None, only 36 trucks entered for the 36 spots.
Winner:Matt Crafton won the Kroger 250, his fourth victory in 318 NCWTS races. This is the No. 88 Toyota Tundra driver's first victory and first top-10 finish in 2014. It is his first victory and 13th top-10 finish in 25 races at Martinsville Speedway. His previous best finish was second, twice.
