Wrap-up: Chicagoland - NNS

This past weekend, of the NASCAR “top three”, only the Nationwide Series had a scheduled race. The Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois hosted the Nationwide Series enjoyillinois.com 300 on Saturday night. The Camping World Truck Series returns to Eldora Speedway in New Weston, Ohio for the second annual dirt track race, the 1800CarCash Mudsummer Classic,  on Wednesday July 23rd. After a week break, the Sprint Cup Series will head to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Crown Royal 400 at the Brickyard on Sunday, July 27. The latest results on the ARCA Racing Series and the NASCAR Home Tracks are also shown below.

NASCAR Nationwide Series
Time Trials: 
Brian Scott won the Coors Light Pole Award for the enjoyillinois.com 300 with a lap of 30.370 seconds, 177.807 mph. This is the No. 2 Chevrolet Camaro driver's fourth pole in 160 NNS races. This is his second pole and 15th top-10 start in 2014 and his second pole in eight races at Chicagoland Speedway - Scott posted his first series career pole at Chicago on 9/17/2011. He led 20 laps in Saturday night’s race and finished in sixth place. This was the best of the four drivers eligible for the Dash 4 Cash program, earning Scott a $100,000 bonus and, also, making him eligible for the next race in the program.
Did Not Qualify: None, 40 cars entered for 40 spots.
Winner: Chase Elliott won the enjoyillinois.com 300, his third victory in 18 NNS races. This is the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro driver's third victory and 13th top-10 finish in 2014. It is his first victory and first top-10 finish at Chicagoland Speedway. With the victory, Elliott takes over the lead in the point standings.
