Wrapup: Texas Motor Speedway

The Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) hosted two NASCAR top series events this past weekend. On Saturday, the 1.5-mile quad-oval in Fort Worth featured the XFINITY Series My Bariatric Solutions 300. The Monster Energy 334-lap O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 was held on Sunday afternoon. The Camping World Truck Series will return to action on Friday, May 12, with the Toyota Tundra 250 at Kansas Speedway. The results and upcoming scheduled events for the ARCA Racing Series, NASCAR Home Tracks and other covered series are also shown below.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS)
Time Trials: Kevin Harvick (No. 4 Jimmy John's Ford Fusion) won the Coors Light Pole Award for the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 with a lap of 198.405 mph. This is his 19th pole in 581 MENCS races. It is his second pole and fifth top-10 start in 2017 and his first pole in 29 races at TMS. Ryan Blaney (second) posted his fourth top-10 start of 2017 and his third in five races at TMS. Clint Bowyer (third) posted his eighth top-10 start at TMS and his third in seven races this season. Ty Dillon (14th) was the fastest qualifying rookie.
Did Not Qualify: No one, only 40 cars entered for 40 starting spots.

Results: Jimmie Johnson (No. 48 Lowe's Chevrolet SS) won the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500, his 81st victory in 550 MENCS races. This is his first victory and second top-10 finish in 2017. It is his seventh victory and 21st top-10 finish in 28 races at TMS. Kyle Larson (second) posted his third top-10 finish in eight races at TMS. It is his fifth top-10 finish in 2017. Joey Logano (third) posted his eighth top-10 finish in 18 races at TMS. Ty Dillon (17th) was the highest finishing rookie. Pole-sitter Kevin Harvick led 77 laps and finished fourth in the 334-lap race.

Standings: Kyle Larson leads the point standings by 17 points over Chase Elliott.

NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS)
Time Trials: MENCS regular Joey Logano (No. 22 Ford Fusion), driving the No. 12 PPG Ford Mustang, won the Coors Light Pole Award for the My Bariatric Solutions 300 with a lap 192.768 mph. This is his 33rd pole in 162 NXS races. It is his second pole and third top-10 NXS start in 2017 and his third pole in 11 NXS races at TMS. Cup regular Erik Jones (second) posted his third top-10 start of 2017 and his fifth in five NXS races at TMS. Another Cup driver, Austin Dillon (third) posted his 10th top-10 NXS start at TMS. William Byron (fifth) was the fastest qualifying rookie.
Did Not Qualify: No. 97 Stephen Leicht and No. 74 Mike Harmon.

Results: MENCS regular Erik Jones, driving the No. 20 GameStop/GAEMS Toyota Camry, won the My Bariatric Solutions 300, his seventh victory in 63 NXS races. This is his first NXS victory and third top-10 finish in 2017. It is his second victory and fifth top-10 finish in five NXS races at TMS. Cup regular Ryan Blaney (second) posted his fourth top-10 finish in four NXS races at TMS. Another Cup regular Kevin Harvick (third) posted his 17th top-10 finish in 20 NXS races at TMS. Cole Custer (fifth) was the highest finishing rookie. Pole-sitter Joey Logano led 19 laps but was credited with a 34th-place DNF after the No. 12 Mustang lost the engine on lap 145 of the 200-lap event.

Standings: Elliott Sadler leads the point standings by six points over William Byron.
