Wrapup: Kansas Speedway

Kansas Speedway hosted the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) and NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) races this past weekend. The NXS held the 200-lap Kansas Lottery 300 on Saturday at the Kansas City 1.5-mile oval. The MENCS featured the 267-lap Hollywood Casino 400, a Chase round elimination event, on Sunday afternoon. The Chase playoff field was cut down from 12 to eight drivers (Round of 8) after the event. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 28, with the Alpha Energy Solutions 200 at Martinsville Speedway. The results and upcoming scheduled events for the ARCA Racing Series, NASCAR Home Tracks and other covered series are also shown below.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS)
Time Trials: Martin Truex Jr. (No. 78 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Toyota Camry) won the Coors Light Pole Award for the Hollywood Casino 400 with a lap of 188.029 mph. This is his 15th pole in 437 MENCS races. It is his third pole and 25th top-10 start in 2017 and his second in 19 races at Kansas Speedway. Kevin Harvick (second) posted his 22nd top-10 start of 2017 and his 10th in 24 races at Kansas. Ryan Blaney (third) posted his fourth top-10 start at Kansas and his 19th in 32 races this season. Daniel Suarez (sixth) was the fastest qualifying Rookie of the Year contender.
Did not qualify: No one. 40 cars entered for 40 spots in the lineup.

Results: Pole-sitter Martin Truex Jr. won the Hollywood Casino 400, his 14th victory in 437 MENCS races. This is his seventh victory and 22nd top-10 finish in 2017. Truex's seven wins are the most in a single season since Matt Kenseth's seven wins in 2013. This is his second victory and seventh top-10 finish in 19 races at Kansas Speedway. Truex sets the series record for the most wins (6) on 1.5-mile tracks in a single season; the previous record was held by Carl Edwards (5 wins, 2008). Kurt Busch (second) posted his eighth top-10 finish in 24 races at Kansas and his 14th top-10 finish in 2017. Ryan Blaney (third) posted his fourth top-10 finish in six races at Kansas. Ty Dillon (16th) was the highest finishing Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender.

Standings: Martin Truex Jr. leads the point standings by 27 points over Kyle Busch.

NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS)
Time Trials: Tyler Reddick (No. 42 BBR/Dustin Lynch Chevrolet Camaro) won the Coors Light Pole Award for the Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway with a lap of 181.117 mph.
This is his first pole in 17 NXS races. It is his eighth top-10 start in 2017. Cup Series regular Erik Jones (second) posted his 13th top-10 start of 2017 and his second in two NXS races at Kansas. Another Cup regular, Ryan Blaney (third) posted his second top-10 NXS start at Kansas Speedway. It is his 10th in 11 NXS races this season. William Byron (sixth) was the fastest qualifying Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender.
Did not qualify: No. 74 Mike Harmon.

Results: NCWTS points leader Christopher Bell, driving the No. 18 JBL Toyota, won the Kansas Lottery 300, his first victory in five NXS races. This is his third top-10 NXS finish in 2017. Bell becomes the first driver to get his first NXS career win at Kansas Speedway. Pole-sitter Tyler Reddick (second), led three laps and posted his first top-10 finish in his first start at Kansas. It is his fifth top-10 finish in 2017. Cup driver Ryan Blaney (third) posted his second top-10 finish in three NXS races at Kansas. William Byron (fourth) was the highest finishing Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender.

Standings: Justin Allgaier leads the point standings by two points over William Byron.
