Wrapup: ISM (Phoenix) Raceway

The ISM (Phoenix) Raceway (ISMR) hosted two races for NASCAR’s top series during this past weekend. On Saturday, the 1-mile tri-oval in Avondale, Arizona was the venue for the XFINITY Series 200-lap DC Solar 200. Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series racing was held at the track on Sunday afternoon with the 312-lap TicketGuardian 500. The Camping World Truck Series will return to action on March 24 with the Alpha Energy Solutions 250 at Martinsville (VA) Speedway. The results and upcoming scheduled events for the ARCA Racing Series and the NASCAR Home Tracks are also shown below.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS)
Time Trials: Martin Truex Jr. (No. 78 5-hour Energy/Bass Pro Shops Toyota) won the Pole Award for the TicketGuardian 500) with a lap of 26.288 seconds, 136.945 mph. This is his 16th pole in 445 MENCS races. It is his first pole and third top-10 start in 2018 and his second pole in 25 races at ISMR. Kyle Larson (2nd) posted his third top-10 start of 2018 and his eighth in nine races at ISMR. Chase Elliot (3rd) posted his fourth top-10 start in four races at ISMR and his third in four series races this season. William Byron (11th) was the fastest qualifying Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender.
Did not qualify: No one. Only 37 cars entered for 40 spots in the lineup.

Results: Kevin Harvick (No. 4 Jimmy John's Ford) won the TicketGuardian 500, his 40th victory in 614 MENCS races. This is his third straight victory and third top-10 finish in 2018. It is his ninth victory and 20th top-10 finish in 31 races at ISMR. Kyle Busch (2nd) posted his 18th top-10 finish in 26 races at ISMR. It is his third top-10 finish in 2018. Chase Elliott (3rd) posted his fourth top-10 finish in five races at ISMR. William Byron (12th) was the highest finishing Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender. Pole-sitter Martin Truex Jr. led 3 laps and finished the event in 5th place.

NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS)
Time Trials: Justin Allgaier (No. 7 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet) won the Pole Award for the DC Solar 200 with a lap of 26.896 seconds, 133.849 mph. This is his sixth pole in 244 NXS races and first in 16 races at ISMR. It is his 11th top-10 start at ISMR and third in four series races in 2018. MENCS regular Brad Keselowski (2nd) posted his 14th top-10 start in 20 NXS races at ISMR. Cole Custer (3rd) posted his third top-10 start in three NXS races at ISMR and his third in four series races this season. Christopher Bell (4th) was the fastest qualifying Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender.

Results: MENCS regular Brad Keselowski, driving the No. 22 Fitzgerald Glider Kits Ford Mustang, won the DC Solar 200, his 37th victory in 250 NXS races. This is his first victory and first top-10 NXS finish in 2018. It is his second victory and 14th top-10 finish in 20 NXS races at ISMR. Justin Allgaier (2nd) posted his 11th top-10 finish in 16 races at ISMR. It is his third top-10 finish in 2018. Allgaier, the pole-sitter, led a race-high 76 laps. Cup regular Kyle Busch (3rd) posted his 18th top-10 finish in 22 NXS races at ISMR. Christopher Bell (4th) was the highest Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender.
