Wrap-up: Texas Motor Speedway

The Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) in Fort Worth, TX was the site of two NASCAR premier series races this past weekend. On Saturday, the XFINITY Series held it's 200-lap My Bariatric Solutions 300 at the 1.5-mile quad-oval. The Monster Energy Cup drivers took to the track on Sunday to compete in the 334-lap O'Reilly Auto Parts 500. The Camping World Truck Series will return to action on Friday, May 4, with the JEGS 200 at Dover International Speedway. The results and upcoming scheduled events for the ARCA Racing Series, NASCAR Home Tracks and others are also shown below.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS)
Time Trials: Kurt Busch (No. 41 Haas Automation/Monster Energy Ford) won the Busch Pole Award for the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 with a lap of 27.360 seconds, 197.368 mph. This is his 23rd pole in 619 MENCS races. It is his first pole and fourth top-10 start in 2018 and his third pole in 31 races at TMS. Kevin Harvick (second) posted his seventh top-10 start of 2018 and his 10th in 31 races at TMS. Clint Bowyer (third) posted his ninth top-10 start at TMS and his fourth in seven races this season. Darrell Wallace Jr. (15th) was the fastest qualifying Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender.
Did not qualify: No one. Only 37 cars entered for 40 spots in the lineup.

Results: Kyle Busch (No. 18 Interstate Batteries Toyota) won the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500, his 44th victory in 469 MENCS races. This is his first victory and sixth top-10 finish in 2018 and his third victory and 13th top-10 finish in 25 races at Fort Worth. Kevin Harvick (second) posted his 19th top-10 finish in 31 races at TMS. It is his fifth top-10 finish in 2018. Jamie McMurray (third) posted his 11th top-10 finish in 29 races at TMS. Pole-sitter Kurt Busch led 40 laps and finished the 334-lap race in seventh place. Darrell Wallace Jr. (eighth) was the highest finishing Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender.

Standings: Kyle Busch leads the point standings by 38 points over Joey Logano.

NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS)
Time Trials: MENCS regular Ryan Blaney, driving the No. 22 Fitzgerald Glider Kits Ford Mustang, won the Pole Award for the My Bariatric Solutions 300 with a lap of 28.439 seconds, 189.880 mph. This is his second pole in 66 NXS races. It is his first pole and second top-10 NXS start in 2018 and his first pole in six NXS races at TMS. Ryan Truex (second) posted his fourth top-10 start of 2018 and his first in three races at TMS. Brandon Jones (third) posted his second top-10 start at TMS. It is his fourth in six races this season. Tyler Reddick (sixth) was the fastest qualifying Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender.
Did Not Qualify: No. 74 Mike Harmon and No. 15 Matt Mills

Results: Pole-sitter Ryan Blaney led a race-high 132 laps and won the 200-lap My Bariatric Solutions 300, his seventh victory in 66 NXS races. This is his first victory and second top-10 NXS finish in 2018. It is his first victory and sixth top-10 finish in six NXS races at TMS. Christopher Bell (second), the highest finishing rookie, posted his second top-10 finish in two races at TMS. It is his fourth top-10 finish in 2018. Daniel Hemric (third) posted his first top-10 finish in three races at TMS.

Standings: Elliott Sadler leads the point standings by 11 points over Tyler Reddick.
