Well the lockout is nearly over, a nuclear winter has been avoided and the Rotoworld staff has been working around the clock (as usual) in order to get the NBA Fantasy Draft Guide out as quickly as possible. Look for it to hit some time later this week.
Get Rotoworld's NBA Draft Guide
It will be a different animal this year, especially since free agency doesn’t start until Dec. 9. That is going to be a crazy week and will surely require many significant updates to the Guide, as several player values will change with each free agent signing. Some free agents have not yet been projected for the season, as it’s nearly an impossible endeavor without even knowing what conference they’ll play in.
Additionally, many of the 350 or so players who have stat projections will need to be tweaked as free agents are signed. We’ll be adding Guide columns as they come in, but most of them should be there once it goes live. I guess what I’m trying to say is that this year’s guide is going to be a living, breathing document that should change on a nearly daily basis for much of the month.
The NBA schedule isn’t even out yet, so the popular “grid” and “breakdown column” will have to be added after the Guide is released. And those are going to be important tools with teams playing back-to-back-to-back games, while you can also count on a record number of 5-game weeks this year.
Every relevant player will have stat projections and an Outlook highlighting what they did last season, what has changed, and what we expect this season. You’ll also find columns on Rookies, Sleepers, Busts, Offseason Moves, Matt Stroup’s delicious Round Ball Stew, as well as some mock drafts and Average Draft Position information as it becomes available. There are also plenty of rankings/cheat sheets as well as a custom scoring tool.
In the meantime, the Rotoworld NBA News page is up and cranking nearly 24 hours a day, finally offering something other than dreadful Derek Fisher lockout news. Nene to the Heat? Chris Paul to New York? Z-Bo running and dunking? It's all there. And we are back on Twitter in full force, so check us out using the links below.
Soon the Daily Dose will be rolling around, as well as the weekly columns you've come to love. Let's do this!
