Weekend Studs

Joakim Noah - Noah fought through a sprained ankle for his second triple-double of the season, racking up 13 points, 12 boards, 14 assists, two steals and two blocks in a win over the Knicks. He’s been ridiculous for a couple months and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Kevin Love – I don’t have time to research it, but Love’s four made shots on Saturday might be one of the best four-bucket games of all time. He was just 4-of-12 from the floor, yet still managed to finish with 22 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, a block and two 3-pointers. And as if that’s not enough, he also hit 12-of-14 free throws, which obviously helped save the night, and committed a single turnover. It’s just hard to imagine him playing any better than he has this season. Nikola Pekovic and Kevin Martin made triumphant returns from injury in this game, but Love stole the fantasy show.

Dwyane Wade – Don’t look now but Wade has played in six straight games and hit 10-of-14 shots for 24 points, three rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block in 30 minutes on Saturday. And if you count the All-Star Game, that’s seven straight games played for Wade. His season has consisted of a series of short games-played streaks. He started off the year with a season-high eight straight games played back in November, had a seven-game streak in January, a six-game streak in February and the current six-game streak he’s on. And this means one of two things. He’s either healthy and ready to quiet his critics by playing this thing out, or he’s ready to miss a random game and mess up the fantasy playoffs for some of us. The Heat play four times this week and Wade looks good to go, but there is a back-to-back situation to worry about, as the Heat host the Bobcats on Monday, then visit the Rockets on Tuesday. He’s in my lineup in a playoff league and I’m not going to lie. Just as he has for most of the season, I’m expecting Wade to let me down at some point this week, but am also hoping he’s turned the corner and will keep playing.

Trevor Ariza – Ariza racked up a career-high 40 points with four steals, a block and eight 3-pointers on Saturday. And despite having him in my daily money league lineup, Timofey Mozgov and C.J. Watson saw to it that I didn’t win. And from what I gathered from Twitter, I wasn’t alone. Ariza has been a beast for most of the season and one of the best waiver-wire pickups of the year.

Jeff Teague – He’s had his owners want to jump off a cliff for a month or so now, but Teague showed up in a big way on Sunday. He helped me win some daily money, despite Victor Oladipo being in my lineup, and went off with 29 points, six rebounds, nine assists, two steals and a block on 14-of-21 shooting. He’s scored between 26 and 29 points in each of his last four games and it looks like the slump is officially over.

Gerald Green – Green stayed hot with 33 points on Sunday, hitting five 3-pointers and all 10 of his free throws in a win over the Hawks. Eric Bledsoe continues to get closer to a return, but Green continues to defy the odds and rack up numbers. Yes, he’ll take a hit once Bledsoe’s back, but not enough of one that you should be dumping him right now.

Tyson Chandler – Chandler ripped down 22 rebounds to go along with three blocks on Sunday against his former team (Bulls). I don’t own Chandler anywhere, so I was a little surprised to see how well he’s rebounding (and playing) recently. He had 23 rebounds a week ago Saturday and is now averaging 11.0 points, 17.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks over his last five games. The Knicks are a mess, but Chandler is doing what he can to help.

DeMar DeRozan – DeRozan scored 32 points with four boards, six assists, a 3-pointer and a steal on Sunday, marking his third straight game with at least that many points. I caught some heat when I put him on this list, but since the All-Star break, he’s averaging 26.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists. His 3-pointers had dried up until last night, but he’s hit 86 percent of his free throws over his last five games, and I still maintain that he was one of the best deals in fantasy hoops on draft night, and he’s still rolling.

Tobias Harris – With Glen Davis out of town Harris is rolling and racked up a season-high 31 points with eight rebounds and three steals. He’s at 20.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.2 steals over his last five and now looks like a must-start. Finally.

Russell Westbrook – Westbrook is rolling, scoring between 21 and 26 points in each of his three games and caught fire on Sunday, hitting 10-of-12 shots and 4-of-5 3-pointers for a highly efficient 26 points, five dimes and two steals. He’s shooting 48 percent over his last five and is killing it for his patient fantasy owners. Sure, the Thunder lost three of those games, but in fantasy, who cares?

Reggie Jackson – I went with Jackson in Waiver Wired as the guy to own with Thabo Sefolosha’s season in doubt with a calf injury and he came through with 17 points, three boards, three assists, a steal and a 3-pointer on Sunday. Perry Jones started and Jeremy Lamb played heavy minutes, but I want to own Jackson of the three.
