FPBC Lineup for Wednesday

Wednesday, March 2, 2016

The Fanduel Partner’s Basketball Championship is rolling along and I currently sit in third place for a chance to win a trip to the Playboy Mansion. That’s deceiving because we can drop our two lowest scores, but it’s also better than being in last. I’m going to hit on five “top” plays from my lineup. Of course, tip off is still some five hours away, so I could make 20 lineup changes before then. But here’s my early version.

PG Patrick Beverley

PG Isaiah Thomas

SG Monta Ellis

SG Nicolas Batum

SF Paul George

SF Matt Barnes

PF Zach Randolph

PF Kenneth Faried

C Dwight Howard

I originally had a lineup including James Harden and Anthony Davis, but with Davis being a game-time call, I had to change it up since I'll be on the road at 7 p.m. (lineup deadline). Here is a closer look at five of my nine plays.

Point Guard

Patrick Beverley matches up against the Pelicans, who have been the third-worst team against opposing point guards over their last five games. The game looks like the highest-scoring one of the night, the price is right, Ty Lawson is gone and his usage rate should be very high tonight.

Shooting Guard

Nicolas Batum is the guy I'm excited about here, although Monta Ellis also has a nice matchup. The Sixers are the second-worst team in the league against opposing small forwards over their last five games and Batum played well on Tuesday night. He’s due for a breakout game and the Sixers should be just what the doctor ordered. Batum is a SG on Fanduel, but starts at SF in real life. And while I don’t have them in my lineup, Denver’s Gary Harris and Will Barton have a great matchup with the Lakers, so give them a look.

Small Forward

I like Paul George’s matchup against the Bucks, who have allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing small forwards lately. I wish this game was expected to be a higher-scoring affair, but George has been mostly reliable all season and will have to be ready to roll against a red-hot Giannis Antetokounmpo tonight.

Power Forward

I ended up ditching Anthony Davis and Darrell Arthur for a couple safer plays. Zach Randolph and Kenneth Faried both have good matchups tonight. Z-Bo gets the Kings (without Rudy Gay) and Faried gets the Lakers. The Kings and Lakers rank fifth and fourth against opposing power forwards over their last five games, and both of them are playing well right now. Faried is deailng with a back injury, but says he's going to play.

Center

Dwight Howard joins Davis on my must-play list, as the Pelicans, sans Omer Asik, start Alexis Ajinca at center and give up the most points to opposing centers as a result.

Good luck tonight!!
