FPC Championship

Friday, March 4, 2016

I took a big hit on Wednesday night, thanks to some last-minute lineup changes and some very poor play from Matt Barnes and Kenneth Faried. My big mistake in that one was trying to find nine solid players instead of making certain I had a few big scorers in there. A few of my gambles paid off (Patrick Beverley), but in the end it was one of the worst Fanduel nights I’ve had in a while.

I’m feeling good about tonight’s team though, as I was able to take more time and do more research than Wednesday allowed. Bouncing back, baby. Follow me on Twitter by clicking here. And follow along with the FPC by clicking on this link.

Roster

Elfrid Payton $5,300 vs. Phoenix

Isaiah Canaan $3,700 vs. Miami

Khris Middleton $7,900 vs. Minnesota

Andrew Wiggins $6,200 vs. Milwaukee

Paul George $8,500 vs. Charlotte

Giannis Antetokounmpo $8,300 vs. Boston

Aaron Gordon $6,400 vs. Phoenix

Mirza Teletovic $4,700 vs. Orlando

Hassan Whiteside $8,600 vs. Philadelphia

Point Guard

Payton has a fantastic matchup against the Suns, who have been the worst team against opposing point guards over the last five games. Add in that the Magic-Suns is expected to be the highest-scoring game of the night, and Payton looks like a can’t miss prospect. Canaan was cheap, has been playing well, and Miami is No. 8 on the list of teams giving up the most Fanduel points to opposing shooting guards right now.

Shooting Guard

Middleton gets the Wolves, who are the worst defense against shooting guards over the last five games. Middleton has also been cooking all season and this should be a fun night to own him and Antetokounmpo. Wiggins will square off against Middleton and the Bucks the fifth-worst versus opposing shooting guards over the last five games. It’s also helpful that the Wolves-Bucks is expected to be the second highest-scoring game of the night.

Small Forward

I was torn between Carmelo Anthony and Paul George, but George has a better matchup against the Hornets (Melo gets the Celtics, who are sixth-best vs. SFs over their last five). George had 36.6 Fanduel points the last time he played Charlotte and I’m expecting him to be closer to 50 tonight. Antetokounmpo gets the Wolves, who are second-worst against small forwards over the last five games.

Power Forward

Aaron Gordon has been pretty hot and gets the Suns, who have been the fifth-worst team against opposing PFs over the last five. It’s also expected to be the highest-scoring game of the night, making Gordon look nearly can’t-miss. Teletovic is a throw in, but his salary is still very low and he’s scored at least 20 Fanduel points in eight straight games.

Center

If the Sixers are playing, you want to start a center against them. And Whiteside has been fantastic, scoring 32.7, 51.3, 37.2, 48, 40.6, 53.1 and 55.6 Fanduel points in each of his previous seven games.
