FanDuel NBA Bargains Wednesday

Wednesday, January 3, 2018

When looking at bargains on FanDuel, typically we’ll focus on players who are priced at $6,000 or lower. I’ll be ranking these picks by priority to your lineups for tonight’s 12-game slate starting at 7:00 ET.

Just a quick note that these player picks were organized early in the day. For the NBA, there is usually a plethora of news trickling out through the afternoon, which could open up some more value plays. Be sure to keep posted with the NBA Headlines & Injuries section, as the wonderful contributors over there will break down the DFS consequences of every piece of news.

Now onto the bargain plays.

1 – Kyle Anderson – SF – San Antonio (FanDuel Price: $4,900)

Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili have all been ruled out tonight. Rudy Gay will continue to miss time as well. That leaves plenty of minutes and usage for Kyle Anderson to soak up. His price has fallen due to less playing time following Kawhi Leonard’s return; however, we don’t have to worry about that tonight. Anderson makes for a solid SF2 value on FanDuel, as the matchup at Philadelphia isn’t too shabby either.

2 – Jordan Bell – PF – Golden State (FanDuel Price: $5,200)

Draymond Green, Zaza Pachulia, and Andre Iguodala are all questionable tonight. Bell would see a marginal uptick in his fantasy projection if Draymond, Zaza, or both missed this game. Having said that, I like Bell even if all three of those questionable players suit up. Bell has been very good off the bench as of late, averaging 22 minutes and 31 FPPG over his past six. He’s underpriced despite that recent surge, and his upside would climb if Draymond or Zaza sat.

3 – Dejounte Murray – PG – San Antonio (FanDuel Price: $3,500)

As mentioned earlier, the Spurs have ruled out several players for tonight’s game. That gives Dejounte Murray a clear path to 25-30 minutes and enough usage to make a fantasy splash. Murray has logged 24+ minutes six times over the past six weeks. He’s averaging a solid 31 FPPG in those games, which would certainly be enough to satisfy this near-minimum salary. Consider him a nice bargain PG2 to offset Chris Paul’s salary.

4 – Richaun Holmes – C – Philadelphia (FanDuel Price: $4,100)

Joel Embiid is doubtful tonight, meaning Richaun Holmes will see extra work in Philadelphia’s frontcourt. In the past four games with Embiid out, Holmes is averaging 26 fantasy points and 23 minutes per contest. The matchup isn’t great vs San Antonio, but Holmes should see 20-25 minutes to provide adequate value at least above 20 fantasy points.

5 – Amir Johnson – PF – Philadelphia (FanDuel Price: $3,600)

In case you haven’t noticed, this San Antonio-Philadelphia game is filled with a ton of value. Amir Johnson will help fill the massive void left by Joel Embiid (doubtful) tonight. Over the past four games with Embiid out, Amir is averaging 19 minutes and 19 fantasy points. That isn’t necessarily great, but it keeps Johnson in the bargain conversation for this near-minimum salary. Don’t expect any upside, but Johnson could represent a decent value filler if you need another cheapie to round out your lineup.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Andrew Wiggins ($5800) went off for 47 fantasy points on Monday vs the Lakers. Was that a random breakout or the beginning of a new trend? The answer probably lies somewhere in the middle. I’m not expecting Wiggins to grab nine rebounds in every game, but he’ll continue to see more opportunities with Jeff Teague out and Tyus Jones playing through an injury.

A pair of Mavericks can be placed in the GPP bargain conversation. Dirk Nowitzki ($5500) and Dennis Smith Jr.($5500) have both showcased admirable upside as of late. This is set to be a high-scoring, fast-paced matchup against the Warriors, something that could benefit these two players if the score remains competitive.
