Here’s my attempt to win $8,000 toad hides (that’s a metaphor for cash money. I’m a vegetarian) Last week was an unmitigated disaster, but we pick ourselves up, dust our laptops off and enter more teams! Good luck all!
Editor's Note: Rotoworld's partner FanDuel is hosting a one-week $80,000 Fantasy Football league for Week 9. It's just $10 to join and first prize is $8,000. Starts Sunday at 1pm ET. Here's the link.
QB Cam Newton $8,900 ATL @ CAR -- Over the last three games Newton is 58-of-75 for 667 yards, six touchdowns and zero interceptions and this week he faces a Falcons defense that has yet to hold an opposing quarterback under two passing touchdowns. Newton is also averaging 10 rushing attempts over each of the last three games, which coupled with the horrid pass defense makes for a lot of fantasy points to be had.
RB Jamaal Charles $9,200 KC @ BUF -- Charles has yet to accumulate fewer than 100 total yards in any game this season and is averaging a touchdown per game. The Bills will either have Jeff Tuel or Matt Flynn at quarterback and will have trouble moving the ball. That ought to give Charles enough opportunities against a defense that does allow 103 yards rushing a game at 4 yards per carry.
RB Eddie Lacy $6,800 CHI @ GB – I’m not overly concerned with the talk of James Starks getting more looks. It really is understandable when Lacy getting 33 touches. He won’t need as many this week against the Bears who before the bye gave up three touchdowns to Roy Helu and 200+ yards rushing to Washington as a whole. On the season they are giving up 100+ yards rushing per game to running backs and Lacy is averaging over 110 total yards in his last four games.
WR Lance Moore $4,900 NO @ NYJ -- With Marques Colston hurting and possibly not playing I like Moore as the cheap play for the week. He just came back from a hand injury last week and caught a touchdown pass so it looks like he is healthy and has always been a favorite of Brees in the red zone. The Jets are a hot mess and were just torched for five touchdown passes from Andy Dalton. The Saints will score; I just hope Moore gets in on the fun.
WR T.Y. Hilton $6,000 IND @ HOU -- Hilton is now the no doubt #1 receiver for one of the best quarterbacks in the league and his price hasn’t caught up to that fact yet, so I’ll probably own him on most of my teams this weekend. He’ll also most likely take over Reggie Wayne’s slot role, which will give him more targets and easier matchups.
WR Keenan Allen $6,000 SD @ WAS – Washington is giving up the fourth most yards receiving to wide receivers with 201.4 per game and over one receiving touchdown per game. Allen is averaging eight receptions for 92 yards with two touchdowns in his last four games. This game has the highest over/under of any game this weekend and Allen is the most dynamic and the number one receiver on a well-rested Chargers team.
TE Rob Gronkowski $7,400 PIT @ NE – Gronk failed to deliver last week, but he’s still Gronk. In his two regular season games against the Steelers he’s averaged 6 receptions for 83 yards and has three touchdowns. His upside is too high for me not to risk and we already saw him put up a good game his first week back.
K Graham Gano $5,000 ATL @ CAR -- Atlanta is giving up the most FanDuel points to kickers of any team playing this week and he’s cheap.
D Kansas City Chiefs $5,800 KC @ BUF –Fool me twice shame on me. Fool me three times shame on you? Wait, no. Well, I’m going to give this one more shot. Kansas City has faced two great matchups the last two weeks and failed to produce. I’m going to play the law of averages and the law of Jeff Tuel or Matt Flynn and give them one more shot.
