There were plenty of injuries in this Sunday’s slate of games. So let’s assess the damage.
According to the Nashville Tennessean's Jim Wyatt, Jake Locker's right foot injury might be season ending. According to Wyatt’s source the injury appears to be Lisfranc and surgery is a possibility. Ryan Fitzpatrick would become the starter. He doesn’t hurt the offensive players all that much but hurts their playoff chances.
Jay Cutler had to leave the matchup with the Lions in the fourth quarter due to an ankle injury, but he probably should have left earlier since he looked hurt and even admitted he wasn’t able to make some of the throws. He will have further testing on his sprained ankle Monday, but no matter what it looks like the Bears are in good hands with Josh McCown as the backup.
Editor's Note: Rotoworld's partner FanDuel is hosting a one-week $300,000 Fantasy Football league for Week 11. It's $25 to join and first prize is $25,000. Starts Sunday at 1pm ET. Here's the link.
Peyton Manning didn’t leave the game, but had to call a time out after a hit so he could stay in the game. He took a couple hits to the legs and you could tell he was hurting. The MRI revealed he aggravated the injury he originally suffered in Week 6, but has avoided a true setback With the next game against undefeated rival Kansas City it would take a significant injury to keep him off the field.
Vernon Davis left the game against the Panthers in the second quarter with a concussion. It was a big blow for the 49ers that have no other playmakers in the receiving game and it showed. Vance McDonald took Davis’ snaps, but ended up with no receptions. He is talented though and would have some appeal if Davis were to miss any time.
Tony Gonzalez injured the toe on his left foot and was seen limping after the game. When asked if he'll be okay going forward, Gonzalez replied, "We'll see." He’ll have some more tests to determine the extent of the injury. Gonzo saw five targets and caught three for 29 yards against the Seahawks.
Stevie Johnson left the game with a groin injury and admitted that he is "unsure" of his Week 11 availability. If Johnson and Robert Woods (ankle) can't play in Week 11 against the Jets, Marquise Goodwin and T.J. Graham would become their starting receivers.
Terrelle Pryor has a sprained MCL and says he felt "very sore." It probably won’t keep him out next week, but without his tremendous speed it will be tough for him to have startable fantasy games since his passing has regressed of late. He had a tough game against the Giants completing just 11-of-26 passed for 122 yards and an interception.
Michael Floyd left the game with an acromioclavicular shoulder sprain and never returned. Coach Bruce Arians said Floyd should be fine for Week 11, but we’ll have to see how he does this week in practice. Andre Roberts stepped in for him and had a nice game.
Bears placed Charles Tillman on injured reserve/designated to return with a triceps injury. He can't play for another eight weeks, so Tillman's regular season is over. He had been battling injuries all season, but was still getting enough playing time to be a big part of their defense. The Bears are a matchup dream each week now.
Chargers FB Le'Ron McClain was forced from Sunday's game against the Broncos with an ankle injury. With their offensive line hurting and now their lead blocker, the Chargers will face some real questions in the run game.
Seneca Wallace left the game against the Eagles in the first quarter with a groin injury. Scott Tolzien replaced him and performed well under the conditions, completing 24-of-39 for 280 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He has already been named the starter for their Week 11 game against the Giants.
Cowboys middle linebacker and defensive quarterback Sean Lee left Sunday night's game against the Saints with a strained left hamstring. Matt Mosley of Fox Sports Southwest has been told they are looking at a 3-4 week timeline for his return at the moment. Dallas’ defense was already in shambles, but this is yet another blow. Without Lee they gave up a NFL record 40 first downs.
