Fanduel $300,000 League

Saturday, November 23, 2013

Editor's Note: Rotoworld's partner FanDuel is hosting a one-week $300,000 Fantasy Football league for Week 12. It's $25 to join and first prize is $25,000. Starts Sunday at 1pm ET. Here's the link.

Good day all you fake football freaks! This week we’ll be trying to take home 25k in our 300k tournament, so buckle up and let’s get started.

QB Josh McCown $5,500 CHI@STL

Josh McCown has played quite well in relief of Jay Cutler this season. He has come in twice now to lead touchdown drives and won both the games he has started. The Bears have averaged 37.9 attempts per game this season, so if you take his numbers so far this and take his statistics using those attempts, he is averaging 267 yards passing, 1.9 touchdowns and no interceptions per game. That also takes into account a tough game in bad conditions against the Ravens.  The Rams are no pushovers on defense, but their strength is the pass rush and the Bears are allowing the third least amount of sacks per game with quick hitting timed routes. For his price I will happily take a 250-yard, 2-touchdown game.

Other QBs: Scott Tolzien, Case Keenum, Mike Glennon, Eli Manning, Carson Palmer, Ryan Fitzpatrick

RB Zac Stacy $7,400 CHI@STL

The Bears are giving up yardage like it’s radioactive. Last week Ray Rice broke out of his yearlong slump, rushing for 131 yards and a touchdown, which was more than he had totaled the four-week’s previous combined. On the season they are allowing 118.7 rushing yards at a 4.5-yard per attempt rate and 1.2 touchdowns per game to opposing quarterbacks. Stacy is one of the few every down backs in the league and should be rested up after the bye for a big workload.

RB Eddie Lacy $6,600 MIN@GB

The last time these two teams met Lacy ran for 94 yards and a touchdown and caught four passes for 18 yards. The Vikings have given up the sixth most fantasy points to running backs and in their last four games are giving up 101 yards rushing at 4.1 yards per carry. The Vikings shouldn’t be able to score enough to keep the Packers in hurry up/comeback mode, especially with Adrian Peterson not at 100%. Lacy will easily get his 20+ carries in this one.

Other RBs: Matt Forte, Reggie Bush, Andre Brown, Rashad Jennings, Bobby Rainey, Shane Vereen

WR Eric Decker $5,800 DEN@NE

The Patriots secondary is depleted with injuries and Julius Thomas is not 100%. That sets up nice for Decker in what should be an up-tempo, close game. Even if Thomas and the questionable Patriots’ defensive backs do play, I’d still like Decker for his price, but even if they don’t he’s a great value.

WR Vincent Jackson $8,000 TB@DET

The Lions have been horrible against the pass of late, giving up 309.8 passing yards and 2.8 touchdowns per game since Week 6.  They have allowed eight 100+ yard receiving games to opposing wide receivers this year! Last Week Mike Glennon targeted Jackson 12 times after coach Greg Schiano made it known he needed to be targeted even in tight coverage and it worked to the tune of 10 receptions for 165 yards and a touchdown. I don’t love going back to the well, especially with Jackson who has always been inconsistent from week to week, but they will need him in what should be a high scoring game.

WR Andre Johnson $7,700 JAC@HOU

Since Case Keenum took the helm, Andre Johnson has averaged seven receptions for 117.8 yards and 1.2 touchdowns. This week he gets the Jacksonville defense that just gave up 193 yards and a touchdown to Michael Floyd.

Other WRs: Jordy Nelson, Wes Welker, Victor Cruz, Danny Amendola, Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd, Kendall Wright, Rueben Randle

TE Rob Gronkowski $8,200 DEN@NE

Denver has given up on average 6.2 receptions to opposing tight ends, which ranks them 30th in the league. They also rank 27th in fantasy points allowed to tight ends. Much of that comes from the amount opposing teams have to throw the ball to keep up with the Broncos' offense, but that shouldn’t change much this week and with no Jimmy Graham to choose from, Gronk is clearly a huge step above the rest of the group.

Other TE’s: Vernon Davis, Greg Olsen, Coby Fleener, Garrett Graham, Mychal Rivera

K Mason Crosby $5,300 MIN@GB

The Vikings allow the sixth most fantasy points per game to opposing kickers. The weather looks like it should be fine in Green Bay and Crosby has been playing well this season and has the second most fantasy points for kickers.

Other K’s: David Akers

D Baltimore Ravens $5,300 NYJ@BAL

The Ravens defense is averaging 5.3 FanDuel points on the road and 13.25 at home. This week they get the Jets who are allowing opposing defenses to score an average of 17 FanDuel points per game in their house.

Other D’s: New York Jets, Houston Texans
