$300,000 FanDuel Tournament

Saturday, December 07, 2013

Editor's Note: Rotoworld's partner FanDuel is hosting a one-week $300,000 Fantasy Football league for Week 14. It's $25 to join and first prize is $25,000. Starts Sunday at 1pm ET. Here's the FanDuel link.

Welcome to Week 14! Below I have my team for the big $300k FanDuel Tournament.  am a little worried about the weather this week and since we are playing a game where we aren't tied to a small grouping of players like we are in redraft, we can be picky. So be sure to keep your eyes to the skies!

QB Josh McCown $7,200 DAL@CHI

McCown has been good to us the last two weeks so I’m going to triple down on him against the Cowboys weak defense. They are giving up the second most passing yards, the second most fantasy points, the seventh most passing touchdowns, and the eight worst completion percentage to opposing quarterbacks. They also are generous to receiving running backs, giving up the most receptions, yards and touchdowns through the air. That should help McCown, with Matt Forte being one of the best receiving backs in the league. I’ll keep an eye on the weather, but I think he can put up good numbers even in inclement weather with Marshall, Jeffery and Forte all being tremendous in the short passing game.

RB DeMarco Murray $8,000 DAL@CHI

Ray Rice, Benny Cunningham, Eddie Lacy, Brandon Jacobs, Reggie Bush and Adrian Peterson all had their most rushing yards on the season against the Bears pathetic rush defense.  On the year they are giving up 133.5 yards rushing to running backs per game. Lance Dunbar is out and Murray should easily get a ton of work both in the running and passing game. A good running back against the worst rushing defense in the league? Ok.

RB Jamaal Charles $9,600 KC@WAS

I honestly could have gone Shane Vereen here and upgraded at a different position, but Charles has been so consistent I just felt like having him on my team. He’s only had three games where he didn’t score a touchdown and Washington leads the league by allowing 15 rushing touchdowns this season. Kansas City has lost three in a row after a nine game winning streak and will want badly to get back to their winning ways. Jamaal Charles is how they do that.

WR Kendall Wright $5,900 TEN@DEN

The Broncos have a good defense that is often playing with a large lead so they give up a large amount of receptions, especially of the underneath variety. That’s where Kendall Wright comes in. He is averaging 6 receptions per game and his team will be losing this match and possibly by a large margin. It’s going to be awfully cold in Denver, but with little wind. Ryan Fitzpatrick is a check down king as it is and Wright could have 10 receptions in this one.

WR Julian Edelman $4,900 CLE@NE

Edelman has caught 18 passes on 23 targets for 211 yards and two touchdowns over the last two weeks. Brady has locked onto him as his baby Welker and I don’t think that will change this week. Joe Haden doesn’t play slot receivers so I’m not too worried about him getting locked down and for the price I love the potential.

WR Riley Cooper $5,900 DET@PHI

Detroit is giving up the second most fantasy points to wide receivers this season and Philadelphia is giving up the most fantasy points to receivers. The only thing keeping this from being a barn burner will be the weather, but so far it looks like very little wind is in the forecast and snow instead of rain or ice. I don’t see any reason they won’t be able to throw in those conditions.

TE Rob Gronkowski $8,500 CLE@NE

Cleveland is dead last against tight ends in Football Outsiders DVOA. Yes, worse than Arizona. And really, if they were ranked first I’d still want to play Gronkowski because he’s pretty much unstoppable.

K Garrett Hartley $5,000 CAR@NO

Carolina has a great defense and the Saints have a great offense. I like that for a kicker, especially at home in the dome.

D Baltimore Ravens $5,000 MIN@BAL

The Ravens defense is legit and Matt Cassel is not. They will be playing at home with some sleet in the forecast. Even without the weather I like them to be able to slow down Peterson enough to make Cassel have to throw and make mistakes.
