Injury Questions: Week 15

Friday, December 13, 2013

Welcome to Week 15 of the National Football League fantasy division. We don’t have many but with all of these injuries you never know when something wacky will pop up, so stay tuned to the Rotoworld News Page and also check out our live blog which I’ll be live blogging starting an hour before kickoff.

We also have Week 15 Rankings from Mr. Pat Daugherty and Evan Silva's detailed look at every game in his Matchup Column. Both will help you make those last second playoff lineup decisions, so check them out.

1PM GAMES

Redskins at Falcons

* Jordan Reed (concussion) is listed as questionable, which is a surprise after it was reported they would shut him down for the season, but the likelihood of him being cleared to play is slim at this point.

* Roddy White (knee) is listed as questionable but is fully expected to play after practicing at least on a limited basis each day this week.

* Tony Gonzalez (toe) is listed as questionable, but will play as usual. The Falcons often list players questionable when they should be probable.

Editor's Note: Rotoworld's partner FanDuel is hosting a one-week $300,000 Fantasy Football league for Week 15. It's $25 to join and first prize is $25,000. Starts Sunday at 1pm ET. Here's the FanDuel link.

49ers at Buccaneers

* Frank Gore (ankle) is listed as probable and will play after getting some veteran (old man) rest during the week.

* Mario Manningham (knee) is listed as questionable.

* Vincent Jackson (hamstring) is listed as probable and will play.

Seahawks at Giants

* Percy Harvin (hip) has been ruled out. He didn't practice all week and isn’t expected to return in Week 16 and could be shut down until the postseason.

* Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder) and Corey Webster (groin/ankle) have been ruled out.

Eagles at Vikings

* Adrian Peterson (groin, foot) admitted he has not stopped experiencing pain in his sprained foot. "It’s pain there, but it’s at the point where you have to suck some of the pain up," said Peterson, who did practice on a limited basis Friday. He is listed as questionable and since he’s played with pain all season it’s not out of the question that he’ll go. Thankfully it’s an early game.

* Toby Gerhart (hamstring) is listed as questionable. He missed Wednesday and Thursday's practices, and was only a light participant on Friday. If Peterson can’t go and Gerhart can, he’d still be a risky play.

* Vikings TE John Carlson (concussion) has been ruled out. Rhett Ellison and Chase Ford will fill in.

* Cornerbacks Josh Robinson (chest) and Xavier Rhodes (ankle) are both out. Rhodes was the only Vikings' defensive back to have a positive grade at pro Football Focus.

Patriots at Dolphins

* Kenbrell Thompkins (hip) is listed as questionable. He was limited in practice all week, just as he was last week when he sat.  His status is up in the air.

* Aaron Dobson (foot) is listed as questionable. He returned to practice Friday for the first time since injuring his foot in Week 12. We wouldn't expect him to play against the Dolphins, but there's a chance.

* Lamar Miller (concussion) practiced in full on Friday and is listed as probable. It looks like he has been cleared and will play, but with Daniel Thomas taking looks away once again.

Bills at Jaguars

* Maurice Jones-Drew (hamstring) is listed as doubtful to play against the Bills. That leaves Jordan Todman as the starter. The Bills are allowing 112.8 rushing yards per game to opposing running backs.

* Cecil Shorts (groin) practiced on a limited basis Friday and is listed as questionable. He also revealed Friday that he needs postseason surgery on his groin. Shorts will be a game-time decision against Buffalo and is risky in this good matchup.

Texans at Colts

* Texans interim coach Wade Phillips said Friday that Garrett Graham (hamstring, "could play" against the Colts despite not practicing at all this week and that he'll be a game-time decision. If he can’t go Ryan Griffin should get the bulk of the playing time.

* DeAndre Hopkins (ankle) is listed as questionable. This is a good matchup, but it’s probably better to be safe than sorry.

* Owen Daniels (leg) won't return for Week 15 from I.R.  According to Wade Phillips, Daniels could "maybe" return for Week 16.

* LaVon Brazill (foot) is listed as questionable despite not turning in a single practice this week. He looks like he’ll be a game-time decision.

Bears at Browns

* Lance Briggs (shoulder) is listed as out. The Bears run defense could really us him.

* Jay Cutler (ankle) is listed as probable and will start ahead of Josh McCown in Cleveland.

* Willis McGahee (concussion) did not practice this week and is listed as out. Chris Ogbonnaya should get the start in a plus matchup.

* Jordan Cameron (ribs) practiced in full this week and is listed as probable and will play.

4PM GAMES

Chiefs at Raiders

* Dexter McCluster (ankle) is dealing with a laceration on his foot and is questionable against the Raiders.

* Anthony Fasano (concussion/knee) has been ruled out against the Raiders. Sean “Fear The Beard” McGrath will get the start.

* Justin Houston (elbow) returned to a limited practice Wednesday and remained limited all week then was ruled out.

* Rashad Jennings (concussion) is probable and will play against the Chiefs.

* CSN Bay Area reports the Raiders are considering placing Darren McFadden (ankle) on injured reserve. HE won’t play against Kansas City and may just be shut down.

* Denarius Moore (shoulder) is listed as questionable but is tentatively expected to return for Sunday's matchup with Kansas City. If active, he'll start opposite Rod Streater, with Andre Holmes moving back to the third receiver role.

Jets at Panthers

* The Jets placed Stephen Hill on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season.

* Jeremy Kerley (elbow) practiced in full this week and will play for a second straight week.

* Santonio Holmes (foot, hamstring) was limited in practice this week, but is listed as probable and will play in a very tough matchup.

* Jonathan Stewart (torn MCL) will most likely be out until the playoffs and could be out for the duration with his history of slow healing.

* Greg Olsen (foot) returned to practice Thursday and Friday after resting his foot. He will play.

Packers at Cowboys

* Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) has been ruled out for Week 15. Matt Flynn will get the start. If they win there is still a chance Rodgers returns in Week 16.

* Eddie Lacy (ankle) said his ankle felt a lot better than it did in the second half of last week. He is listed as probable and will play in a great matchup.

* Sean Lee (neck) said he doesn’t know when he’ll be able to return to the field. He won’t play against the Packers and plans on being careful with the sprained ligament in his neck.

Cardinals at Titans

* Rob Housler (groin) missed Friday’s practice and is listed as doubtful. Jim Dray and Jake Ballard will fill in.

* Carson Palmer (elbow) is listed as questionable after a limited week of practice.

Just like last week, Palmer was limited every day in practice but will play.

* Michael Floyd (ankle) is listed as questionable after being limited in practice Thursday and Friday, but is expected to play.

* Delanie Walker (concussion) is listed as probable after practicing all week. He gets a nice matchup against a Cardinals’ defense that has given up a league high 14 touchdowns and an average of 6.5 receptions and 85.8 yards to opposing tight ends.

Saints at Rams

* Tavon Austin (ankle) remained in a walking boot at Friday's practice and is listed as questionable.

* Janoris Jenkins (groin) is listed as questionable against the Saints after not practicing. He is their best corner and if he can’t go Drew Brees and company get an even easier matchup.

SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

Bengals at Steelers

* Marvin Jones (shoulder) remained limited in Friday's practice, but is listed as probable and will play Sunday night.

* Emmanuel Sanders (foot) was added to the Steelers' injury report Thursday. He was limited in practice Thursday and Friday, but is listed as probable and will play.

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

Ravens at Lions

* Reggie Bush (calf) returned to practice Friday and reports are that he looked good. It looks like he is going to play, but stay alert to updates on the situation.
