Week 7 Live Blog

Sunday, October 22, 2017

After taking a day off last week (thanks to Connor Allen for manning the blog) I am back this week and hoping we can avoid another week of major injuries. One thing I'll be closely following today is how Packers QB Brett Hundley can perform in place of the injured Aaron Rodgers as he faces off against the Saints defense.

(7:27PM) Let's wrap up this week's version of the Rotoworld Live Blog. The Cowboys finished off a blowout of the 49ers, while the Steelers are taking a knee in the red zone as they will take out AFC North rival Cincinnati. The Chargers shut out the Broncos and Seattle will beat the Giants, who are attempting a late scoring drive, but trail 24-7. Enjoy Sunday Night Football and good luck in your fantasy matchups. I'll be back next week for another edition of the Live Blog.

(7:16PM) The Seattle/New York game is all but over and QB Russell Wilson just put a bow on it with a touchdown pass to TE Jimmy Graham, who now has three receptions for 51 yards. Wilson is up to 334/3/0 on the day.

(7:01PM) The Chargers have added to their lead over Denver and QB Philip Rivers has his second touchdown of the day after hitting WR Travis Benjamin for a 42-yard score. Rivers has 183 passing yards in the game.

(6:57PM) After QB Eli Manning was stripped of the ball, Seattle QB Russell Wilson launched a 38-yard score to WR Paul Richardon, who had to fight the Giants defender for the ball. A confused official finally ruled the play a touchdown for the Seahawks, who now lead 17-7. Wilson is up to 307 passing yards and two scores.

(6:49PM) The Cowboys have called off the troops, benching QB Dak Prescott and RB Ezekiel Elliott as they lead the Niners by a score of 40-10. San Francisco finally scored a touchdown as rookie QB CJ Beathard ran it in from four yards out. The former Iowa star has 226 passing yards on the day, but has failed to throw for a touchdown.

(6:32PM) The Broncos offense continues to be shut out by the Chargers. RB CJ Anderson has only 14 yards on six carries, while QB Trevor Siemian has just 112 passing yards and no scores. The Chargers lead 14-0 late in the third quarter.

(6:29PM) The Cowboys are blasting the 49ers and continue to pour it on. QB Dak Prescott just threw his third touchdown pass of the day, hitting WR Dez Bryant in the back of the end zone for a 40-3 lead. Bryant now has seven receptions for 63 yards and the score.

(6:25PM) And just like that! QB Russell Wilson threw a lob pass over the top for the Seahawks first touchdown of the day, finding WR Doug Baldwin for 22 yards. Baldwin now has a 7/81/1 line for the game.

(6:22PM) The Seahawks are in the red zone after a 29-yard reception for TE Jimmy Graham, followed by a 23-yarder to WR Paul Richardson. QB Russell Wilson has 230 passing yards on the day, but no touchdowns.

(6:21PM) I know this one hurts...Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas looked to have an 81-yard catch and run, but the play was called back after Thomas was flagged for offensive pass interference. Instead, Thomas has two catches for nine yards.

(6:19PM) We've already learned that Cardinals QB Carson Palmer will miss significant time with an injury and now the Dolphins fear starting QB Jay Cutler may have suffered a broken rib, which would keep him out of the lineup.

(5:59PM) The Cowboys and RB Ezekiel Elliott are at it again. Elliott just scored his third touchdown of the day, this time on a 72-yard reception from QB Dak Prescott. Elliott has 161 total yards and three scores on the day.

(5:54PM) Time for another check on the top fantasy scorers of Week Seven:

QB- Derek Carr, Alex Smith, Josh McCown, Jameis Winston, Tyrod Taylor

RB- Ezekiel Elliott, LeSean McCoy, Todd Gurley, Aaron Jones, TJ Yeldon

WR- Amari Cooper, Kenny Stills, Tyreek Hill, Jarvis Landry, Mike Evans

TE- OJ Howard, Jared Cook, Travis Kelce, Cameron Brate, Anthony Fasano

(5:51PM) After taking the lead late in the half, the Steelers lead 20-14 on the back of RB LeVeon Bell, who has 109 total yards at the half. WRs Antonio Brown (3/46/1) and Juju Smith-Schuster (2/39/1) have posted solid production, but teammate WR Martavis Bryant has just one grab for three yards.

(5:45PM) The Seahawks and Giants are locked in a low-scoring match as New York leads 7-3 in a game nearing halftime, despite QB Eli Manning throwing for just 17 yards in the game so far. Seattle WR Doug Baldwin has enjoyed a productive half, catching five passes for 56 yards, while TE Jimmy Graham has disappointed against the Giants, catching just one of four looks for 21 yards.

(5:39PM) The Chargers lead Denver 14-0 though there are no fantasy stats here of note. Chargers WR Keenan Allen (1/19) and Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas (2/9) are both off to a slow start. Chargers RB Melvin Gordon has been on a tear, but has just eight yards on eight rushes so far.

(5:36PM) With the late games nearing halftime, let's check in on some key performers. Dallas leads 20-0 and RB Ezekiel Elliott has 89 rushing yards and two scores. WR Dez Bryant has caught four passes for 53 yards. 49ers RB Carlos Hyde has 49 total yards at the break, while WR Pierre Garcon has hauled in four passes for 30 yards. Rookie QB CJ Beathard has 125 passing yards in his first career start.

(5:18PM) A slow-paced afternoon slate just got shaken up as the Bengals and Chargers scored within seconds of each other. Bengals QB Andy Dalton converted a fourth down attempt, finding TE Tyler Kroft for the short score to tie the game. Meanwhile, Chargers QB Philip Rivers extended his team's lead on a one-yard touchdown pass to rookie RB Austin Ekeler.
