Now onto the FanDuel NFL Must Plays for week 10!

Just a reminder, this column includes only Sunday games (starting at 1 ET), as that’s considered the main slate on FanDuel.

PLATINUM: Build your lineup around these guys

Dak Prescott – QB – Dallas (FanDuel Price: $8,800)

Ezekiel Elliott is finally suspended, so…wait a minute, let me double check. Okay: As of Friday noon Eastern Time, Elliott is suspended and it appears he’ll miss the next four games at least. That means Dak Prescott could be busier than usual while Dallas finds themselves in another high-scoring tilt (50 point over/under is highest on this slate) at Atlanta. The Falcons rank 23rd in overall DVOA this season, and Dak should be entrusted with more red-zone opportunities instead of deferring to Zeke. Prescott was already racking up excellent fantasy performances alongside Elliott, and his upside potential obviously ascends in this situation. While Dak comes with a hefty price point, he should be worth every penny.

Le’Veon Bell – RB – Pittsburgh (FanDuel Price: $9,400)

There’s enough value on this slate (more on that later) to comfortably spend up on Prescott and Bell. Le’Veon should be fully rested after the bye week, ready to take advantage of a promising draw at Indianapolis, who ranks 21st in DVOA against the run and second to last in receiving yards allowed to the running back position. The fresh legs combined with matchup potential, game script (Pittsburgh checks in as 10 point road favorites), and somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 carries makes Le’Veon an easy DFS lift.

GOLD: Next wave to consider in terms of priority

Leonard Fournette – RB – Jacksonville (FanDuel Price: $8,700)

It is entirely possible to roster Bell and Fournette in the same lineup. You’ll likely have to go cheap at wide receiver or quarterback, but an abundance of value makes that a fine cash game strategy. Following last week’s surprise scratch, Fournette has had three weeks of rest. He should be chomping at the bit to run all over a Chargers’ defense that ranks 31st in DVOA against the run. As we all know, the Jaguars want to enact a “ground-and-pound” offensive strategy, and the LAC defense should oblige.

A.J. Green – WR – Cincinnati (FanDuel Price: $7,900)

Green was ejected from last week’s game after getting in a scuffle with Jalen Ramsey. He finished with only once reception and six yards, subsequently lowering his salary on FanDuel. We can take advantage of that discount in a prime bounce-back spot against a Tennessee defense that ranks 22nd in DVOA against the pass. The Bengals still can’t seem to run the ball effectively, so they’ll turn to Green while trying to stabilize drives and finish things off in the red-zone.

SILVER: Good options that narrowly rank ahead of similar players

Bilal Powell – RB – New York Jets (FanDuel Price: $6,000)

Matt Forte missed Friday’s practice, meaning he’s highly questionable (borderline doubtful) for Sunday’s game. That leaves more carries for Bilal Powell, who thrived in Forte’s absence en route to 190 total yards and a touchdown on 25 touches vs Jacksonville on October 1. The Jets should be able to move the ball regularly against a Tampa Bay defense that ranks 30th in overall DVOA and 22nd against the run.

Marvin Jones Jr – WR – Detroit (FanDuel Price: $6,400)

Sometimes FanDuel doesn’t take into account Monday Night games when pricing for the upcoming week. I’m pretty sure that’s what happened with Marvin Jones, as the $6400 salary seems very light considering his sweet 7-107-2 (26.2 FP) line last Monday. Jones has coexisted nicely with Golden Tate, passing him as Detroit’s top pass catcher in recent weeks. Jones has amassed 19 catches, 331 yards, and three touchdowns on a whopping 36 targets over the past three weeks. This week’s matchup vs Cleveland looks great, as the Browns rank 28th in DVOA against the pass. On top of that, the Lions have had trouble establishing the run this season, relying heavily on the passing game despite checking in as double-digit home favorites.

BRONZE: Not 100% necessities, but they mix well into a quality lineup

Sterling Shepard – New York Giants (FanDuel Price: $5,700)

Shepard’s salary actually dropped a few hundred dollars despite a solid showing last week. He’ll continue to profile as New York’s default top receiver, seeing near double-digit targets every game. That’s good news considering his opponent, San Francisco, ranks 26th in DVOA vs the pass. Making matters even better, the 49ers rank first in DVOA against the tight end position. That could limit targets for TE Evan Engram, pushing more production towards Shepard.

Cameron Brate – Tampa Bay (FanDuel Price: $5,700)

Jameis Winston and Mike Evans are both out this week, so we could see plenty of Ryan Fitzpatrick to Cameron Brate (and company) on Sunday. Fitzpatrick actually took over for Winston earlier this season, racking up 290 yards and three touchdowns (22-32 passing) at Arizona. Brate represented a strong target in that game, hauling in six receptions for 76 yards and a score. It stands to reason that the Buccaneers will lean heavily on Brate with Mike Evans’ size off the field.

PARTICIPATION RIBBONS: Fell just short of a featured spot

Detroit Lions – DEF (FanDuel Price: $5,300)

You don’t necessarily have to spend up on a defense this week, but the Lions make for a confident play if you have the necessary funds. Detroit has been surprising on that side of the ball this season, and facing a turnover-prone Cleveland team at home makes for a dream matchup … If you are looking for a value defense, the Bears ($4300) vs an Aaron Rodgers-less Packers squad fit the bill.

Todd Gurley – RB – Los Angeles Rams (FanDuel Price: $9,600)

It’s somewhat difficult to separate Bell, Gurley, and Fournette as premium running backs. You really can’t go wrong with any of them, as Gurley also steps into a promising situation. The Rams represent double-digit home favorites against Houston, providing another excellent opportunity for Gurley to display his elite fantasy consistency.

Matthew Stafford – QB – Detroit (FanDuel Price: $8,200)

Dak Prescott and Matthew Stafford both represent confident QB options through all formats. I already mentioned the matchup potential with WR Marvin Jones, and pairing him with Stafford serves as a quality cash game stack.

Rob Gronkowski – TE – New England (FanDuel Price: $8,100)

You’ll need a little more creativity to squeeze Gronkowski in your lineup (cheap at WR or QB), but that’s not a bad alternate lineup strategy. The Broncos have been generous to opposing tight ends this season, and Gronkowski should see plenty of targets with Chris Hogan banged up.

Mohamed Sanu – WR – Atlanta (FanDuel Price: $5,900)

Julio Jones ended up practicing on Friday, but we aren’t sure if he’ll play or how effective he’ll be. That opens up more opportunities for Mohamed Sanu in a high-scoring matchup with Dallas.

The Kicker Conundrum

A few top options have reasonable salaries this week, as Ryan Succop ($4800), Mike Nugent ($4700), and Chris Boswell ($4800) hold my attention – listed in order of preference.
