Dose: Goalies Drop Like Flies

QUICK HITS

The Kings scored seven goals after juggling their lines, most notably sending Dustin Brown down to the third line for Dwight King, who collected his first career hat trick skating with Anze Kopitar and Justin Williams … I’m surprised to see that David Clarkson ownership only went up from 32 percent to 35, but I expect that to change today as people realize his suspension’s over. Grab this 20-30 goal, 200+ SOG and 100+ PIM power forward before it’s too late … Alex Ovechkin has 10 goals in 10 games and it’s not based on insane puck luck; he’s firing away like the guy who was once a no-brainer top pick in fantasy formats as a rarely unstoppable winger (Ovi vs. Crosby is a great debate again, and I consider that delightful) … Kari Lehtonen is back and should be a solid performer until his next lower-body injury … Jonathan Toews got the credit for Tampa Bay’s own-goal last night. A gift from the fantasy gods, no doubt (I wonder if this column will come up in Dallas Eakins’ “hockey gods” Google Alert feed now) … San Jose lost thanks to David Krejci’s fluke goal, but looked absolutely dominant. Jarome Iginla continues to heat up for Boston while Brad Marchand indeed got bumped back up to the Bruins’ second line with Loui Eriksson hurt … After a performance like last night’s loss to Roberto Luongo’s Canucks, I’ll have a hard time beating up on the Devils for taking a start from Cory Schneider and giving it to Martin Brodeur. On the bright side, at least the Patrik Elias - Jaromir Jagr combo looks dangerous … Jonas Hiller’s struggles are legit. Viktor Fasth should probably get an extra start or two when he’s ready to go; we’ll see … So, Dany Heatley can at least still score into an empty-net. What a freefall … It's tough to argue with what Alex Chiasson (20 percent owned) is doing in a small sample size of games for the Stars; he has 16 points (including 11 goals) in 16 NHL games. His puck luck has dropped from insane (46.2 in 2012-13) to above average (15.2), so his production seems more legitimate … Brad Richards continues to be a rare bright spot for the Rangers.

INJURIES (full list)

The Bruins confirmed that Loui Eriksson has a “pretty severe” concussion and is out indefinitely. Ugh ...Meanwhile, John Scott will be suspended for "not long enough" ... Lauri Korpikoski is day-to-day with an upper-body injury ... Vincent Lecavalier returned to action. For now ... Joffrey Lupul's day-to-day with a foot problem ... All kinds of issues for Canucks forwards: Jannik Hansen is on the LTIR while Dale Weise and David Booth were injured during Thursday's game.
