NHL Plays: Wednesday

Wednesday, November 8, 2017

NHL Plays will look at some players to consider adding while building your lineups. Remember to check back on this page later in the day for confirmations on starting goalies and keep an eye on Rotoworld’s daily blurbs for all your fantasy hockey needs.

Keep in mind that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UT).

Minnesota and Tampa Bay will play the first half of their respective back-to-back situations Wednesday night.

Editor's Note: Rotoworld’s Season Pass is now available for the low price of $19.99. You get plenty of extra articles including the minor league report, the junior report and much, much more. Buy it now!

Eric Staal (MIN) - C - $6,500 (FanDuel), $5,300 (DraftKings)

Staal has five goals and four assists in 14 games this season. He still doesn’t have a power-play point, but he has played well against Toronto throughout his career. The veteran center has 47 points (23 goals, 24 assists) in 43 matches against the Leafs, which includes three markers in two outings in 2016-17.

Brayden Point (TBL) - C - $5,600 (FanDuel), $5,100 (DraftKings)

Point has two goals and two assists during a three-game point streak and he has racked up four goals and eight points over his last seven contests. Tampa Bay’s top line has deservedly been attracting most of the attention so far this year, but the second unit of Point, Yanni Gourde and Ondrej Palat has been productive as well, especially of late.

Yanni Gourde (TBL) - W - $3,600 (FanDuel), $,4,300 (DraftKings)

Gourde could be a real bargain on Wednesday night, especially on FanDuel. He has picked up a goal in each of his last three games to go along with an assist and seven shots. Gourde has four markers and seven points in his last seven matches.

Patrick Marleau (TOR) - W - $5,300 (FanDuel), $5,200 (DraftKings)

Marleau could be back at center on Wednesday night if Auston Matthews isn’t available to play because of a lingering injury. Regardless of where he lines up, Marleau has enjoyed plenty of success against Minnesota in the past. He netted three goals and added an assist in three meetings versus the Wild last year.

Kevin Shattenkirk (NYR) - D - $6,100 (FanDuel), $5,700 (DraftKings)

Shattenkirk is red hot going into Wednesday’s tilt with Boston. He has compiled three goals and five assists during a five-game point streak. Shattenkirk has also generated four points on the power play during that span. He has racked up 15 points in 16 matches this campaign, which currently has him tied for first among all defenders in scoring.

Probable Goaltenders:

Minnesota (Devan Dubnyk) Confirmed @ Toronto (Frederik Andersen) Confirmed

Boston (Tuukka Rask) Confirmed @ NY Rangers (Henrik Lundqvist) Confirmed

Tampa Bay (Andrei Vasilevskiy) Confirmed @ San Jose (Martin Jones) Confirmed
