NHL Plays: Friday

Friday, November 10, 2017

NHL Plays will look at some players to consider adding while building your lineups. Remember to check back on this page later in the day for confirmations on starting goalies and keep an eye on Rotoworld’s daily blurbs for all your fantasy hockey needs.

Keep in mind that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UT).

Ottawa and Colorado will play the first of two matches in Sweden on Friday at 2:00 pm. ET. They will meet again on Saturday from Stockholm. Florida, Buffalo, Boston, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Carolina, Columbus, Winnipeg and the New York Islanders will also be playing the first half of their respective back-to-back situations.

Editor's Note: Rotoworld’s Season Pass is now available for the low price of $19.99. You get plenty of extra articles including the minor league report, the junior report and much, much more. Buy it now!

Connor Hellebuyck (WPG) - G - $8,400 (FanDuel), $7,900 (DraftKings)

Hellebuyck has been superb for the Jets this season and he has a decent price against a Vegas team that just returned home from a 1-4-1 road trip. He has gone 8-0-2 this season with a 2.12 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage in 11 appearances.

Jonathan Huberdeau (FLA) - W - $6,500 (FanDuel), $6,000 (DraftKings)

Huberdeau has been a consistent point producer for the Panthers so far this campaign. He has missed the scoresheet just two times in 14 games, while racking up five goals and 11 assists for 16 points. He netted three goals and added one helper in two matches against Buffalo last season.

William Nylander (TOR) - W - $6,400 (FanDuel), $6,600 (DraftKings)

Nylander has been snakebitten with no goals in his last nine games and Auston Matthews may be out again with an upper-body injury, but it could just be only a matter of time before he breaks out again. He has contributed four assists in his last six outings, with two coming in the past two matches. Playing against his friend, David Pastrnak, could work in his favor on Friday night, as he seems to elevate his game against the Bruins winger. Nylander racked up four goals and one assist in four meetings versus Boston last year.

Matt Duchene (OTT) - C - $5,000 (FanDuel), $5,500 (DraftKings)

If you enter an all day or an all early contest then Duchene has all kinds of intrigue and could be worth rostering. He will make his Ottawa debut against his old Colorado teammates on Friday. Duchene is slated to play with Mike Hoffman and Zack Smith at even strength and he should see time on the power play as well. He won’t break the bank in terms of cap space and has plenty of motivation to come up big for his new team.

Mathew Barzal (NYI) - C - $4,400 (FanDuel), $4,600 (DraftKings)

Barzal has amassed two goals and nine assists over a six-game point streak going into Friday’s contest versus Dallas. He has generated four power-play points during that span and has been clicking with Jordan Eberle recently. Barzal has the potential to be a strong value play.

Kyle Connor (WPG) - W - $3,900 (FanDuel), $4,700 (DraftKings)

Connor has been playing with Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler, which has helped him produce three goals and seven points in nine games since he was called up from the minors. He notched a goal and an assist versus Dallas on Monday in his last outing. Connor has the makings of a good undervalued addition to your lineup.

Justin Schultz (PIT) - D - $4,000 (FanDuel), $3,600 (DraftKings)

Schultz got back in the lineup on Tuesday against Arizona from a concussion and scored a goal on three shots in 20:31 of ice time. He also racked up 5:27 on the power play, which was just behind Kris Letang’s 5:44 of action on the man advantage. Schultz could provide plenty of bang for the buck on Friday versus Washington. He had six helpers in four meetings against the Capitals last year.

Tyson Barrie (COL) - D - $5,500 (FanDuel), $4,700 (DraftKings)

Barrie has bounced back in 2017-18 after he struggled last year. He has picked up 12 assists and 14 points in 14 games. He also already has six power-play points after he had a total of 10 in 74 contests last season. Barrie has seven points (one goal, six helpers) in eight career outings versus Ottawa.
