Dose:Markstrom Gets His 1st SO

Wednesday, December 6, 2017

Jacob Markstrom isn’t getting his name in the history books, and he has to be pretty happy about that.  Playing in his 129th career game, he finally got his first shutout by making 30 saves against the Carolina Hurricanes.  With that, the record for most NHL contests before recording a shutout stays with Pokey Reddick, who played in 132 contests but never had a perfect game.

Markstrom’s efforts also helped Vancouver earn its third straight win to improve to 14-10-4.  Not a lot was expected of the Canucks going into the season, but so far they hold the third seed in the Pacific Division.
