Week of Mar. 11-17

Great Options

John Gibson-Anaheim Ducks

Schedule: Mon vs. STL, Wed vs. VAN, Fri vs. DET

Gibson is back from injury and he’s going to get to suit up in three home games against three opponents that are playing terrible hockey right now. He has just one loss in his last seven decisions.

Sergei Bobrovsky-Columbus Blue Jackets

Schedule: Mon vs. MTL, Thu at PHI, Sat vs. OTT

Bobrovsky missed a couple of games because of an illness, but he returned to lineup on Friday night. He’ll get a pair of solid home games against the Canadiens and Senators. Look for the Russian netminder to have a solid fantasy week.

Jonathan Quick-Los Angeles Kings

Schedule: Mon vs. VAN, Tue at ARZ, Thu vs. DET, Sun vs. NJ

Quick enters the weekend with three wins in his last four games. Expect him to be between the pipes for three of his team’s four games next week. He owns a 26-24-2 record with a 2.44 goals-against-average and a .922 save percentage this season.

Martin Jones-San Jose Sharks

Schedule: Mon vs. DET, Wed at EDM, Fri at CGY, Sat at VAN

Jones has three wins in his last four games and he’s allowed two goals or fewer in three of those decisions. He has 22-17-6 record with a 2.49 goals-against-average and a .917 save percentage this season.

Good Options

David Rittich-Calgary Flames

Schedule: Sun vs. NYI, Tue vs. EDM, Fri vs. SJ

Rittich is coming off a pair of victories over a pair of bad teams in Ottawa and Buffalo. The good news is that he’ll play against two more bad teams in the Islanders and Oilers next week. He’s not a household name, but he could pay dividends in fantasy next week.

Roberto Luongo-Florida Panthers

Schedule: Mon vs. OTT, Thu vs. BOS, Sat vs. EDM

Luongo has a 7-1-1 record since returning from injury last month. He’s really taken his game to another level and the Panthers are back in the playoff race because of it. He’ll get two sweet fantasy matchups against Ottawa and Edmonton next week.

Tuukka Rask-Boston Bruins

Schedule: Sun at CHI, Tue at CAR, Thu at FLA, Sat at TB

The Bruins have four road games on the schedule next week, but they’re playing too well to ignore right now. Rask has won three games in a row and four of his last five. Start him with confidence.

Petr Mrazek-Philadelphia Flyers

Schedule: Mon vs. VGK, Thu vs. CBJ, Sat at CAR

Mrazek has dropped four games in a row, but he’ll look to turn things around with a pair of tough home games against Vegas and Columbus.  He has an 11-10-4 record with a 2.94 goals-against-average and. A.905 save percentage this season.

Bad Options

 Jimmy Howard-Detroit Red Wings

Schedule: Mon at SJ, Thu at LAK, Fri at ANA

The Red Wings are a mess right now. They won’t be in the playoffs and they probably won’t win many games down the stretch. Howard can’t be trusted in standard fantasy leagues between now and the end of the season.

Cam Talbot-Edmonton Oilers

Tue at CGY, Wed vs. SJ, Sat at FLA

Talbot is coming off back-to-back wins, but the Oilers will go head-to-head with three teams with playoff aspirations. If you can avoid starting him next week, you should do so.

Jake Allen-St. Louis Blues

Schedule: Mon at ANA, Thu vs. COL, Sat vs. NYR

The Blues got off to a great start this season, but the wheels have completely fallen off of late. Allen played well in his last game against San Jose, but his teammates couldn’t score a single goal for him. It looks like the season will end in disappointment.
